The SalesThumb assistant is a small round button with the SalesThumb logo in the bottom-right corner of every page in the app. Click it and a panel slides in from the right with three tabs: Ask, Today and Tours. The Ask tab works on the Starter plan and up.
Opening the assistant
- Click the logo button in the bottom-right corner.
- Or press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere in the app. The keyboard shortcut always opens the panel on the Ask tab with the cursor ready in the question box.
Cmd+Shift+K (or Ctrl+Shift+K) is a different tool: it opens the search box for jumping to customers, quotes, invoices and pages.
The button is hidden during a full-screen Sales Matrix presentation, so it never covers the customer's screen. To close the panel, click the X in its top corner.
Ask: how-to questions with links to the article
Use Ask for questions about how SalesThumb works, such as "How do I build a quote?" or "How do I change my business hours?".
- Type your question in the Ask about anything in SalesThumb… box. When the box is empty, you'll also see a few starter questions you can click.
- Press Enter (or click the send button). Shift+Enter adds a new line.
- Read the answer. When it draws on a help article, the article's title shows as a small link inside the answer. Click it to open the full article in a new tab.
Answers come from the help center, not from your shop's records. It won't look up a customer, an invoice or your revenue. For questions about your own shop's data, use Ask SalesThumb (AI chat) in the AI tools area.
You can ask follow-up questions and the assistant keeps the thread. To clear the conversation and start fresh, click the Start over button (the circular arrow) next to the question box.
Show me: a step-by-step walkthrough
When your question matches a step in one of the guided tours for your role, the answer also shows a Show me (N steps) button. Click it and the panel closes, then SalesThumb takes you to the right page and highlights each step on the real screen, up to four steps. Nothing is saved; it's a one-off walkthrough.
Today: your day at a glance
The Today tab pulls together three things:
- My day: click Brief me for a short AI-written summary of today: your appointments, urgent messages, overdue invoices and low-stock film. It also previews tomorrow's first appointments. Click Refresh to write a new one. The AI brief is part of the Growth plan and up. People who can't see financial reports get the overdue-invoice count without the dollar amount.
- AI suggestions waiting for your OK: when there are AI actions waiting for approval, a line shows how many. Click Review to open the approval queue. See Approving AI actions and setting autonomy.
- Today's next best actions: click Open to go to the AI daily to-do list. See Using Today (the AI daily copilot).
Tours: guided tours for your role
The Tours tab lists the step-by-step tours for your role. Each one shows its title and either the number of steps or Completed.
- Click Start to begin a tour. The panel closes and the tour runs on the real pages.
- Click Replay to run a finished tour again.
- Click All tours to open the Learn hub. See Using the Learn hub (Teaching Wizard).
If no tours exist for your role yet, the tab says so.
When Ask can't answer
The assistant tells you why instead of guessing:
- Plan: "The assistant is included on the Starter plan and up." Ask your owner to upgrade.
- Monthly allowance: "This month's AI allowance is used up." It resets next month, or your owner can raise the limit.
- Not switched on: a notice that the assistant isn't switched on for the shop yet.
