Accepting a team or HQ invitation

What happens when you open an invite link: signing in or creating an account, the wrong-account warning, and what expired, revoked and seat-limit messages mean.

3 min read

When a shop or HQ invites you, you get an email with a link. The link opens an invitation page. This article is for the person who was invited. To send an invite, see Inviting team members and assigning roles.

Accept a shop invitation

The page says You're invited to join, with the shop's name and your role under it. It also shows the email address the invite was sent to and when the invitation expires.

  1. If you're not signed in, click Sign in if you already have a SalesThumb login, or Sign up to create one. Use the email address the invite was sent to.
  2. Back on the invitation, click Accept invitation.
  3. The page says You're in, welcome! and takes you to that shop's dashboard.

Accept an HQ invitation

An HQ invite works the same way. It uses its own link. After you accept, you go straight to the HQ dashboard instead of a shop.

Signed in as someone else

If you're signed in with a different email, you see a Wrong account warning. Click Sign in as with the invited address. SalesThumb signs you out so you can sign in with the right email.

If the invitation doesn't open

  • Invitation expired: invites last 7 days. Ask the shop or HQ to send a new one.
  • Invitation revoked: the invite was cancelled. Ask for a new one if you still need access.
  • Invitation not found: the link is wrong or incomplete. Ask for a new one.
  • Already accepted: the link has been used. Click Sign in, or Go to dashboard (Go to HQ for an HQ invite).

The shop is at its team-seat limit

If the shop has no free team seats, you see This shop is at its team-seat limit. It names the plan the shop needs. Only the shop owner can fix this, by upgrading under Settings → Plans. Then try accepting again.

New Google or Microsoft accounts

If you create your account with Google or Microsoft, you're asked to agree to the Terms before you can accept. See Agreeing to the Terms when you sign in.
