Migration
How shops migrate from Tint Wiz to SalesThumb
The customer and vehicle import usually runs while your current system keeps working.
1. Export your TintWiz data
Export your customer and vehicle data from TintWiz as a CSV, and SalesThumb's Customers → Import tool loads it with column mapping. Appointment and warranty records aren't auto-imported; bring those over manually or keep TintWiz read-only for historical lookups during the transition.
2. Rebuild your service catalog
Most TintWiz shops have 15-30 services. There's no catalog CSV importer today, so you'll recreate it directly in Settings → Services — AI quote-suggest (AI → Quote suggest) speeds up individual quotes once your catalog exists, drafting line items priced from your own services, but it won't build your menu for you. The AI description-suggest helper in Settings → Services can draft each service's copy to save typing as you add them.
3. Connect payments + Twilio + go live
Connect your payout account (5 min), start your texting setup in Settings → Texting (apply for a new text number or use your current business phone number; SalesThumb handles the carrier registration, and texting turns on once it's approved — or bring your own Twilio number, which needs its own 10DLC registration, typically 1-6 weeks). Run both tools in parallel for a week, then cut over.

Switching-from-Tint Wiz questions
Why are tint shops switching from TintWiz to SalesThumb?+
AI features TintWiz's site doesn't describe: customer brief and suggest-next-service on Growth ($399/mo), photo-to-quote and the AI dispute defender on Pro ($599/mo). For comparison, TintWiz is $150/mo flat and SalesThumb Starter is $199/mo, but Starter doesn't include the AI suite.
Will I lose my film inventory tracking?+
Not on Growth ($399/mo) or above — film roll tracking starts at Growth and isn't included on Basic or Starter. It tracks each roll's length remaining, with one-click draft POs when stock runs low and per-job COGS reports; AI reorder suggestions are on Pro. TintWiz tracks rolls with QR-coded labels and weight/length entry.
What about TintWiz's photo-based film preview?+
TintWiz's proposal tool includes photo uploads for showing customers film options. SalesThumb doesn't have an equivalent photo-preview tool. Cost if running both in parallel during migration: $150/mo TintWiz flat + $199/mo SalesThumb Starter (flat) = $349/mo total, with a real growth path (move SalesThumb up to Growth or Pro as you scale).
How long does the migration take?+
It depends on how much history you bring and how big your catalog is: export from TintWiz, import customers and vehicles into SalesThumb, rebuild your service catalog, connect payments and texting, train your team, then run both systems side by side before you cut over.
Can I keep my TintWiz phone number?+
If you used Twilio under TintWiz, yes — port the number to your own Twilio sub-account, link it in SalesThumb. If TintWiz used a number on your behalf, you'll need to either port it (works if it's a regular long-code) or get a new one (10DLC compliant).
