- It depends on your shop. ShopMonkey is a well-established platform for general auto repair (oil changes, brakes, full mechanical work) and has a very mature parts integration. SalesThumb is purpose-built for the appearance-protection trades — window tint, paint protection film (PPF), ceramic coating, auto detailing, and vehicle wrap — with film catalogs, roll inventory, and warranty registration built in rather than configured around a repair-order model.
- How does SalesThumb compare to Tint Wiz?
- Tint Wiz is a tint-rooted shop tool known for QR-labeled film roll tracking, proposals, deposits, scheduling, and a flat $150/mo price with unlimited users. SalesThumb adds a multi-location HQ add-on, plus bulk SMS/email campaigns and first-party AI (both Growth and up) — none of which Tint Wiz's site describes.
- What about OrbisX, AutoLeap, Mobile Tech RX, Urable, and TintPro?
- Each has a niche. OrbisX has a clean detail/tint-shop UI on a single flat-priced plan. AutoLeap is modern auto-repair management. Mobile Tech RX is reconditioning-focused. Urable is detail-CRM. TintPro is tint + flat-glass SaaS. None of them publishes franchise royalty automation (royalty calculation plus an ACH file export) the way SalesThumb's HQ add-on does.
- Can I migrate from one of these tools?
- Yes. Customer and vehicle data can be imported from a CSV export of any of these platforms during onboarding, with column mapping handled for you. Service catalogs, appointment history, and past quotes/invoices aren't part of the CSV import (ShopMonkey shops can also connect ShopMonkey's API to bring over invoices, estimates, payments, and upcoming appointments) — ShopMonkey, OrbisX, and TintWiz each have a full step-by-step migration guide in our knowledge base covering what to do about those.
