Setting your HQ branding: logo, colors, portal domain and email sender

Upload your network logo, set brand colors that override each shop's, verify an HQ portal domain with a CNAME, and set the sender for HQ emails like royalty statements.

The HQ Branding page sets your network-wide identity: logo, colors, an optional HQ portal domain, and the sender for emails HQ sends. It also holds the brand and pricing locks, which have their own article. See Locking brand colors and service pricing from HQ.

Getting there

In the HQ sidebar, click Branding under Admin. Owners and admins can edit. Everyone else sees the settings with saving turned off and an Org owners/admins only note.

Where your brand shows up

Your organization-wide logo and colors are used for every location ahead of that shop's own. Customers see them on the booking page, customer portal, quotes and invoices, job tracking, inspection reports, warranty lookup, digital business cards and the Sales Matrix kiosk.

Your logo, but not your colors, also shows on the walk-in check-in kiosk, the staff time clock, lobby TV displays and customers' garage and job photo pages. Inside the app, the logo shows in each shop's sidebar and dashboard. The app's own colors aren't themed with your brand yet.

Logo

Under Master Brand Identity, upload your Organization Logo. An upload saves immediately, without clicking Save. To remove it, click Remove logo and confirm. That also takes effect immediately.

Colors

Set five colors:

  • Primary color, for header backgrounds and primary buttons.
  • Accent color, for links, secondary buttons and highlights.
  • Text on primary, for logo and nav text on the header bar.
  • Text on accent, for button labels on accent-colored buttons.
  • Body text, for headings and paragraph text on white surfaces.

A Preview shows your choices. Click View Statement to see a sample royalty statement in your colors. It uses made-up figures.

Only the colors you actually change are saved. A color you never touch stays unset, and each shop's own color is used instead, even though the preview shows a default. Click Save HQ Branding at the bottom to save colors.

HQ portal domain

Under HQ Portal Domain, enter an optional custom domain for the HQ admin portal, such as hq.yournetwork.com. It is not the customer booking address, which is per shop.

  1. Type the domain. A box appears with the DNS record to add: Type CNAME, Name / Host, Points to and TTL.
  2. Add that record at your DNS registrar.
  3. Click Verify. The badge shows Verified, Verification failed or Pending DNS. A failed check explains what it found.
  4. Click Save HQ Branding.

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours. Changing the domain resets the badge to Not configured. Verification is limited to 20 checks an hour.

HQ email sender

Under HQ Email Sender, set Sender name, From address and Reply-to address. They apply to org-level emails such as royalty statements, org invoices and HQ announcements. Each shop sets its own customer-facing email sender.

Emails go out from SalesThumb's verified sending address under your sender name. Replies go to your From address unless you set a Reply-to.

Per-shop settings

The Per-Shop Branding card lists each location. Click one to open its profile. A shop's booking URL, local email sender and SMS number are set there, and HQ can't override the booking URL.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Do I have to click Save for the logo?

A: No. Logo uploads and removals save the moment they finish. Colors, domain and email sender need Save HQ Branding.

Q: Why do some customer pages still show a shop's own colors?

A: Only colors you set here override a shop's. A color you never changed stays unset.

Q: Is the HQ portal domain what customers book on?

A: No. It's for the HQ admin portal. Booking pages are set per shop.
