The Operations hub isn't a dashboard with its own numbers — it's a launcher. It's a single card grid that links out to the back-office tools that don't earn a permanent spot on the sidebar: Inventory, Staff schedule, Time clock, Cash drawer, Staff & roles, and Financials. If you're looking for actual data (this week's schedule, today's drawer count, this month's revenue), you'll click through to one of those cards — the hub page itself is just the directory.
Getting there
Operations isn't a top-level sidebar item. You get to it by clicking Growth & Marketing in the sidebar (under the "Run the shop" section), then clicking the Operations tab along the top of that page — it sits alongside Growth, Scoreboard, AI Tools, and AI Assistant as one of five tabs on that hub. If you already know where you're going, press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) and type the tool name — the hub's own banner reminds you of this shortcut, since it's meant for jumping straight to a tool without stopping on this page at all.
What's on the grid
Six cards, each linking to its own page:
- Inventory — film rolls (length remaining), items, suppliers, low-stock alerts, purchase orders, and the COGS report. Tagged with a "Subnav" badge (more on that below).
- Staff schedule — weekly availability and shift assignments, built to fit drag-and-drop on the desktop calendar.
- Time clock — clock in/out, tips, and commission tracking, with a PIN-protected kiosk mode for shop-floor use.
- Cash drawer — open a register, log drops/payouts/pickups/adjustments during the shift, and close out with a counted-cash variance check.
- Staff & roles — invite users, assign roles (Owner / Admin / Manager / Service Writer / Front Desk / Technician), and set kiosk PINs.
- Financials — revenue and payments-collected KPIs, outstanding AR, average ticket, commissions by tech, revenue by service, aged receivables, and your top invoices for the window. See Reading the Financials page for the full breakdown.
Hover any card and an "Open" link with an arrow fades in, but the whole card is clickable — you don't need to aim for that specific spot.
The Subnav badge on Inventory
Inventory is the one card marked "Subnav," and there's a reason: once you open it, you land in a page with its own sticky internal tab strip — Overview, Rolls, Items, Alerts, Reorder points, Deduct, Purchase orders, COGS, and Suppliers — rather than a single screen. The other five tools are single-page workflows with no further tabs to hunt through, so don't go looking for sub-navigation inside Time clock or Financials that isn't there.
One navigation quirk worth knowing
The Staff schedule card points to `/app/staff-schedule`, which is also the same view embedded as the Employees tab on the Calendar page — so if you're already on Schedules → Employees, you're looking at the same tool this card opens, not a different one. If you ever land on an older `/app/schedule` URL (an old bookmark, for instance), that's a deprecated duplicate that's been intentionally unlinked from navigation — it's missing edit, repeat/bulk-create, and copy-week support that the current staff schedule has, so use the Operations card or the Calendar tab instead.
