When you sign up for SalesThumb, the first thing you'll see is the setup wizard at /app/onboarding — five short steps that take a new shop from empty to able to send a quote, in about three minutes. It's the default landing page for new signups: the welcome email and the soft gate on /app both send you here, along with the dashboard card and command-palette entries that used to point to an older setup wizard.
The five steps
Step 1 — Shop basics. Your shop name is carried over from when you created your account and shown as read-only text with an Edit link, so you don't have to retype it. Below that, pick one or more industries — Window tint, Paint protection (PPF), Ceramic coating, Detailing, Vinyl wraps, or Multi-service shop — which drives which services get suggested in Step 3. Phone and address are optional.
Step 2 — Operating hours. A day-by-day grid, defaulting to Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 10am-4pm, and Sunday closed. Toggle each day open or closed and set its open/close time. You must leave at least one day open — if every day is closed, a warning banner appears and you can't move past this step, because a shop with no open days can't offer any booking slots.
Step 3 — Service catalog. Based on the industries you picked in Step 1, SalesThumb suggests a starter list of services with sensible default prices and durations (for example, "Full sedan tint" at $350 / 180 min). Pick 1 to 5 to get started — the picker soft-caps at 5, so a 6th click is simply ignored. Once picked, edit each service's price and duration inline; the price field won't accept a negative number. Pick more than one industry and the suggested lists merge, with duplicate service names collapsed.
Step 4 — Branding. Choose a brand color, either with the native color-swatch picker or by typing a 6-digit hex code (like #3B82F6). It's used on quotes, invoices, and your public booking page. Logo upload isn't here — that lives under Settings → Appearance, and this screen just links you there. This is the only step with its own "Skip branding for now" link.
Step 5 — Done. A confirmation screen with quick-win links to try right after finishing: send your first quote, add your first customer, connect payments, and set up Team Hub. Click Finish setup to save everything and land on your dashboard.
Saving progress and finishing
Your answers save to your browser automatically as you move between steps, so refreshing mid-wizard won't lose your work. Nothing is written to your shop, though, until you click Finish setup — that saves your shop info, hours, services, and branding together in one shot.
From Step 2 onward, a "Finish setup without branding" link offers a shortcut straight to the dashboard. Despite the name, it isn't a blanket skip: it still checks for a shop name and industry, at least one open day, and at least one picked service, and sends you back to whichever step is incomplete rather than finishing early. It doesn't separately re-check your brand color, but the save behind it is the same one the Finish setup button uses, so an invalid color still bounces you to Step 4 — it just isn't a problem in practice, since the wizard starts you with a valid default color.
If you try to click Finish setup before all four requirements are met — shop basics, an open day, a picked service, and a valid brand color — the button stays disabled; hover it to see exactly what's missing.
Why you keep landing back here
SalesThumb routes you to this wizard automatically until it's completed. Finishing it is what turns that redirect off for good, so if you find yourself bounced back here on a shop you thought was set up, the wizard was never actually completed for it — run through the five steps again, or fill in whatever's missing.
