In the mobile app, an installer registers a warranty from the finished job's screen, and a manager looks warranties up on the Warranties screen. Warranties are a Growth-plan feature, the same as on the web.
Who can do what:
- Register warranty on a job: anyone with Installer or Full mobile access.
- The Warranties list, search and the recoat reminders: managers only (Owner, Admin or Manager with Full access).
- Email Certificate: people allowed to manage warranties.
Register a warranty after a job
- Open the job from Today or the schedule and tap Register warranty.
- Check the customer and vehicle at the top of the Register Warranty screen.
- If your shop has warranty tiers, tap one under Coverage tier (optional). Tap it again to clear it.
- Fill in Film (for example "Ceramic IR 70% front, 20% sides/rear"), Windows / coverage and Installer. Installer starts as the job's assigned installer.
- Pick a Coverage length: 1 year, 3 years, 5 years or Lifetime.
- Tap Register Certificate.
The app opens the new certificate when it's saved. If the customer has an email on file, their certificate email goes out on its own within about an hour, so you don't have to send it.
Rules the app follows
The job has to be Completed. Until it is, the screen shows "Complete the job to register a warranty." and the button stays off.
One certificate per job, unless you mean it. If the job already has a certificate, the screen lists it and asks you to tap Register another first. The server also refuses an exact copy (same job, vehicle, tier, film and windows) and tells you the existing certificate number. A voided certificate doesn't count, so you can void one and issue a new one.
Coverage length follows the tier. With a tier picked, the length uses the tier's own term until you tap a length chip yourself. With no tier, it's 5 years unless you change it.
Look up a warranty
Open the round button at the bottom, then Go to → Field → Warranties. The top strip shows how many are active, claimed and in total.
Search by certificate number or customer name, or filter with the chips: All, Active, Claimed, Transferred, Expired and Voided. Each row shows the customer, vehicle, status and the expiry date, or "Lifetime warranty" when there's no end date.
Inside a certificate
Tap a row to see the Customer, Vehicle, Coverage, Installation and Notes sections. The share icon at the top right sends a short text summary (certificate number, vehicle and status) through your phone's share sheet.
Under Actions:
- Email Certificate sends the certificate to the customer's email on file. It only shows when the warranty is Active, the customer has an email, and you're allowed to manage warranties.
- File a Claim starts a claim for any warranty that isn't voided. See Filing and working a warranty claim for the claim steps and the Claims queue.
Recoat and inspection reminders
When a warranty has an inspection schedule, it shows on the Recoat & inspection due card at the top of Warranties, with counts for overdue, due and upcoming. A "· reminded" note means the customer has already been sent a reminder.
Once the customer has been in, tap Mark resolved. That moves the next inspection and recoat dates forward one cycle and sets up a fresh reminder for the next one. To set up the schedule itself, see Setting up Recoat & Inspection Reminders.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Why is the Register Certificate button greyed out?
A: The job isn't marked Completed yet, or the job already has a certificate and you haven't tapped Register another.
Q: Do I need to email the certificate after registering?
A: No. If the customer has an email on file, the certificate goes out on its own, usually within about an hour. Use Email Certificate only to send it again.
Q: Why can't my installer open the Warranties screen?
A: The Warranties list is for managers. Installers can still register a warranty from the job and file a claim from a certificate.
