When a lead alert arrives on your phone, tap it to open the Lead screen in the SalesThumb mobile app. It shows who the lead is and what they asked for, with buttons to Call or Text them and a quick way to log how the call went. It's built for answering fast. Everything else about the lead stays on the web.
Getting lead alerts
The Lead screen opens from lead push notifications, such as a new lead or a lead nobody has answered yet. Each person turns these on for themselves in Settings → Notifications on the web. See Getting alerts for new leads and leads nobody has answered.
The Leads hub and these alerts are part of the Growth plan and up.
What the screen shows
- The lead's name. If the lead only left a phone number, you'll see the number, or "New lead" if your role can't see contact info.
- Whether it's an Open lead, Won or Lost, and where it came from.
- The service and vehicle they asked about, and their message in quotes.
- Their phone and email, if your role can see contact info.
Calling and texting
Tap Call to dial the lead with your phone. The button is greyed out when there's no number you can see.
Tap Text to open your conversation with the lead. It only works when the lead can be texted and you have permission to manage leads. If texting is blocked, for example because the lead opted out, you'll see "Texting is off for this lead."
Logging the call
On an open lead, the How did the call go? card has four buttons: Reached them, Left a voicemail, No answer and Wrong number. Tap one and you'll see "Call logged".
Reached them and Left a voicemail count as a reply, so the lead stops showing as waiting and the speed-to-lead alert stops. No answer and Wrong number are saved to the lead's history but don't count as a reply. Logging a call doesn't move the lead to a new stage.
To move, assign or close the lead, use the Leads page on the web. See Working and scheduling leads in the Leads hub.
Who can do what
Calling, texting and logging calls need permission to manage leads. Owners, admins, managers, front desk and service writers have it by default. Technicians don't.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Why does the Lead screen say "Couldn't open this lead"?
A: The lead may have been merged or removed, or your role can't see leads. Tap Try again, or check the Leads page on the web.
Q: Does logging a call change the lead's stage?
A: No. It adds the call to the lead's history. Reached them and Left a voicemail also count as a reply, so the lead stops showing as waiting.
Q: Why is the Text button greyed out?
A: The lead can't be texted right now, for example because they opted out, or your role doesn't have permission to manage leads.
