The HQ Locations page is where a multi-location or franchise HQ manages its network: adding new shops, organizing them by ownership company and region, and deciding which owners can get into which shops. It's part of the HQ add-on. Adding a location needs the Manage org settings permission; managing companies, owner access, and regions needs an HQ Owner or Admin.
Getting there
Switch to your HQ view (see Switching between your locations and the HQ dashboard view), then click Locations under Network in the HQ sidebar.
The top of the page shows four totals — Combined revenue 30d, Appointments 30d, Customers, and Active locations — followed by four views: List, Hierarchy, Map, and Regions. The page opens on Map. The search box filters every view by name, address, city, or state.
Adding a location
- Click Add location (top right).
- Step 1: enter the Location name (the only required field), plus any of Street address, Suite / unit, City, State, ZIP, Phone, Email, and Services offered (Window Tint, PPF / Wrap, Detail / Ceramic, General). Turn on Pre-launch — create ahead of opening if the shop isn't open yet: staff can train, access documents, and order supplies from HQ's store, but quotes, invoices, and checkout stay blocked until you flip it live from the location's page. Click Continue.
- Step 2 — Clone setup from: pick Start blank or choose an existing location to copy. The location with the highest 30-day revenue is marked Recommended. Click Continue.
- Step 3 — Confirm & create: review and click Create location.
Cloning copies branding, catalog, pricing, and sales-matrix settings. Customers, vehicles, quotes, invoices, appointments, staff, and payment accounts are never copied. You become the new location's owner, and SalesThumb switches you into it and opens payment setup so you can connect payments right away.
Importing several locations from a CSV
Click Import CSV, then Download sample CSV if you want a template. Upload your file (up to 50 locations per file, column headers in the first row), match each column to a field under Map your columns — only Location name is required — then click Import [number] locations. Optional columns include verticals, a location to clone setup from, and a yes/no pre-launch flag.
Organizing shops into companies (Hierarchy)
The Hierarchy tab shows your HQ at the top, each ownership company (for example, a franchisee's LLC) underneath, and Standalone locations grouped by state.
- Add company — enter a Display name, an optional Legal / DBA name and notes, then Create company.
- Link shop — on a company row, adds one of your standalone locations to that company.
- Move — on any shop, moves it to another company or back to Standalone (no group).
- Unlink — removes the shop from your HQ entirely (you'll be asked "Remove from org?").
- Delete — only works once a company has no shops left in it.
Claim a standalone shop at the bottom lets you search independent shops on SalesThumb and Send request to bring one into your network. Nothing changes until that shop accepts.
Giving owners access to shops
- On a company row in Hierarchy, click Owners.
- The Owner access by shop grid lists each owner against each shop in that company, with their role (OWNER or ADMIN) where they have access.
- Click + in an empty cell to grant OWNER access to that shop, or click a role badge to remove it.
- To add someone new, search your team by name or email, then click + [shop name] for one shop or Grant to entire group for every shop in the company at once.
Linking a new shop into a company does not give that company's existing owners access to it — every grant is explicit. You also can't remove the last owner from a shop.
Grouping shops into regions
Regions slice your network for reporting and management — for example "Pacific Northwest."
- Open the Regions tab and click Add region.
- Enter a Name, and optionally a Parent region (for multi-level territories), a Manager from your HQ team, a Sort order, and Notes.
- Click Add region.
- On the region's card, click Assign shop, pick a shop, and click Assign.
Each region card shows its shop count, manager, and 30-day revenue and appointments. A shop belongs to one region at a time — assigning it elsewhere moves it. You can also change a shop's region straight from the Region column on the List tab. Deleting a region clears its shop assignments.
Customizing the List view
On List, click Columns to show or hide Address, Opened, Revenue 30d, Appts 30d, Customers, Billing, and Region, or pick a preset (Ops, Finance, Field). Your layout is remembered in your browser. Reset to defaults brings everything back.
Closed locations
Deactivated shops drop out of all four views and appear in a separate Closed locations list at the top, each with a Reactivate button.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Who can add locations in HQ?
A: HQ members with the Manage org settings permission. HQ Owners and Admins have it by default.
Q: What gets copied when I clone a location's setup?
A: Branding, catalog, pricing, and sales-matrix settings. Customers, vehicles, quotes, invoices, appointments, staff, and payment or billing accounts are never copied.
Q: If I link a shop into a company, do that company's owners get access automatically?
A: No. Owner access is granted shop by shop from the Owners grid, or all at once with Grant to entire group.
Q: Can a shop be in more than one region?
A: No. Each shop has one region at a time. Assigning it to a different region moves it.
Q: How many locations can I import at once?
A: Up to 50 per CSV file. Split larger lists into several files.
