Each Flat Glass project has a page on the web where you run the job. This article covers the status menu, daily reports with photos, and the crew schedule. Projects come from awarded bids. See The Flat Glass module.
Open a project
- Open Flat Glass in the sidebar, then Dashboard. Find the Projects card and click a project, or click All projects to see the full list. Most shops have no Projects item in the sidebar. Shops whose business type is Flat Glass also get a Projects item there. Flat Glass only shows if your shop has it turned on.
- Click a project. The top shows its name, its number and the contract amount.
Change the status
Use the dropdown at the top right. The choices are Planned, Mobilizing, In progress, QC / punch list, Complete, On hold and Canceled.
- Choosing In progress stamps today as the actual start date.
- Choosing Complete stamps today as the actual end date and sets % Complete to 100.
The four tiles
- % Complete: a progress bar. Daily reports don't change it.
- Daily reports: how many have been submitted.
- Crew shifts: how many are scheduled.
- COI: On file, Unverified or Missing, with the expiry date. Log COI lets you add the carrier, policy number, expiry and a PDF or photo. See The Flat Glass module for how the COI tracker works.
Submit a daily report
- In the Daily reports card, click Submit daily report.
- Pick the date and fill in Sqft installed, Crew size and Man-hours.
- Add Weather (optional), Work completed and Blockers (optional).
- Click Submit.
Submit stays off until the date, a square footage above zero, the crew size and the man-hours are filled in.
Until the first report is in, the Daily reports card says "No daily reports yet. Use Submit daily report above, or submit one from the mobile app while on site."
Each report in the list shows the date and a line such as "Crew 4 · 320 sqft · 32.0 hrs", plus the weather. Click Add photos (or Add photo once there is one) under a report to attach images from your computer.
Schedule the crew
- In the Crew schedule card, click Add crew.
- Pick the installer from your staff, then the date.
- Set Hours. It starts at 8.
- Add Notes (optional), and turn on Crew lead if this person leads the job that day.
- Click Add.
Each row shows the date and installer, then "Lead" or "Crew", the hours and any notes. The pencil icon edits a row. The trash icon removes it after you confirm Remove crew schedule?.
On a phone, the mobile app has the same project tools. See Flat glass bids and projects on mobile.
