The Estimate pending measurement label

An unpriced $0 service line on a quote or invoice shows an amber Estimate pending measurement label. Here is where it comes from, where it prints, and how to clear it.

3 min read

On a quote or invoice, a service line that has no price yet gets a small amber label next to its name: Estimate — pending measurement. It also prints on the quote and invoice PDFs under the line's description.

The label tells the reader that the $0 is not a free service. It means the price is still to be worked out.

Where it comes from

Estimate requests from the Sales Matrix kiosk's flat glass flow are saved as $0 service lines on purpose. Nobody has measured the glass yet, so there is no price. When that quote becomes an invoice, the $0 lines carry over, and the label carries over with them.

The rule

The label shows when a line is a service line, its total is $0, its unit price is $0 and it has no discount.

A comped line doesn't get the label. That is a service line that had a price and was brought down to $0 with a discount. It is not a pending estimate, so it shows no label and prints none.

Clear the label

Put a price on the line. Once the line total is above $0, the label goes away. Lines for film and other line types never show it.
