Watch: How to run the end-of-day close report in SalesThumb (0:46)

The End of Day Close report shows everything your shop collected today, split by how customers paid. Use it as the last check before you lock up.

Open the report

  1. In the sidebar, click Reports, then switch to Detail.
  2. In the list on the left, under Financial, click End of Day Close.

The report always shows today, in your shop's time zone, so there's no date range to set.

What each column means

  • Card, Cash, Check, ACH, Financing, Other are the amounts collected by each payment method.
  • Tips Collected is the tips taken in today.
  • Revenue is the day's total across every method.

Only completed payments are counted, and refunds already taken back are subtracted, so the numbers reflect what you actually kept.

Close out the day

Before you close up, compare these numbers with your card processor's deposits and the cash in your drawer. If cash doesn't match, check for a payment that was recorded with the wrong method.

Who can see it: Owners, Admins and Managers. Front desk and technician roles don't have financial reports by default.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can I run the end-of-day report for a past date?

A: No. End of Day Close always shows today in your shop's time zone. For earlier days, use the Transactions report with a date range.

Q: Does the end-of-day total include refunds?

A: It counts completed payments and subtracts any refunds taken back on them, so the totals match what you kept.

Q: Who can see the End of Day Close report?

A: Owners, Admins and Managers, by default. It's a financial report, so front desk and technician roles don't see it unless you give them that permission.
