Adding PPF to a quote or invoice

How the Add paint protection film dialog works: pick a coverage package or build a custom kit panel by panel, and add the priced lines to a quote or invoice.

5 min read

The Add paint protection film dialog prices PPF from your catalog. You either pick a coverage package or build a custom kit panel by panel, and it adds the priced lines to your quote or invoice.

Where to find it

  • New quote: click Add item, then choose PPF under Guided builders.
  • New invoice: in the Line Items card, click Add PPF.
  • An existing invoice: while its lines can still be edited, click PPF next to Add line item.

The dialog says "Pick a coverage package or build a custom kit panel-by-panel — priced from your PPF catalog, just like the Sales Matrix."

On a quote, Add item also has PPF coverage-map (by panel). That is a different builder that works out film area, film cost and labor. See PPF and wrap coverage maps by panel.

Option 1: a coverage package

  1. Stay on Coverage package.
  2. Click a card. Packages are listed as Full vehicle, Full front end, Partial front end and High-wear kit. Each card shows the brand and film line, "Covers N panels", and the price.
  3. Look at the Covered panels map below. It shows which body panels that package protects and a count in the form "[covered] of [total] panels". Before you pick one, it shows a Coverage preview instead.
  4. Click Add PPF.

You get one taxable line, such as "PPF — Full vehicle", with the brand and film line as its description. The price is the package's sale price with any sale percentage taken off.

Option 2: build your own kit

  1. Click Build your own. Or click Customize panels → on a package card to start from that package's panels.
  2. Tap panels to check them. They are grouped as Front end, Mirrors & pillars, Doors, High-wear (cups & rockers) and Rear & roof. Each tile shows the panel name and its price.
  3. Watch the footer. It shows the panel count, and "flow-chart pricing" when your panel price sheet is used.
  4. Click Add PPF.

A custom kit adds either one line named "PPF — Custom (N panels)", with the panel names as its description, or film and labor lines when your panel price sheet splits them. Only panels that have a price show up as tiles.

Build your own is switched off until you have per-panel prices. Hovering over it says "Add per-panel pricing in Settings → Sales Matrix → PPF to build a custom kit".

If the dialog is empty

With no packages or panel prices, it says "No PPF packages are set up yet. Add them under Settings → Sales Matrix → PPF." Click Open PPF settings. See Sales Matrix catalog settings.

If you don't have the Manage pricing permission and a line's price can't be matched to your catalog, you see a message such as "[line name]: Ask a manager to change this price."

Frequently asked questions

Q: Why is Build your own greyed out?

A: You haven't set per-panel prices yet. Add them in Settings → Sales Matrix → PPF and the option turns on.

Q: What is the difference between this and the coverage map?

A: This dialog prices a package or a panel kit from your catalog. The coverage map, on quotes only, works out film area, film cost and labor panel by panel.

Q: Can I change a package's panels before adding it?

A: Yes. Click Customize panels on the package card. It opens Build your own with that package's panels already checked.

Q: Why does the package have just one line?

A: A coverage package is added as a single taxable line at its price. Custom kits can come in as film and labor lines when your panel price sheet splits them.
