If your payments application shows "Needs more information," the processor found something it couldn't verify automatically and needs you to confirm it directly. It's a normal, common step — not a red flag on your business — and it's usually resolved in one round if you send exactly what's asked for.
The reasons you'll see, and what clears each one
- Business name / Tax ID mismatch — the legal business name and Tax ID (EIN) you entered don't match IRS records. Double-check both against your official IRS documentation and correct whichever one is off.
- Business verification — the processor couldn't confirm your business is actively registered. Upload a recent business license or your Secretary of State filing.
- Bank account verification (funding) — the processor couldn't confirm the bank account you provided for payouts is open and active. Double-check the routing/account number, or upload a bank letter or voided check confirming the account.
- Bank account verification (billing) — same idea, for a separate billing account, if your setup uses one. Same fix: a bank letter or voided check.
- Additional financial review — the processor wants a closer look at your finances before approving. Upload your most recent 3 months of processing statements, or 3 months of bank statements — either one usually satisfies this.
- Enhanced financial review — a deeper version of the above, typically for larger or newer businesses. This one asks for all three: 3 months of processing statements, 3 months of bank statements, and your last 2+ years of financials plus year-to-date.
- Owner identity verification — an owner's name and Social Security Number don't match IRS records. Double-check both, correct whichever is off, or update the owner listed if it's actually a different person now.
- Something else — occasionally the processor needs something that can't be collected through the standard application form. If you see this, email info@roffik.com with your business name and we'll find out exactly what's being asked for.
What to do
Read the specific reason shown on your application carefully — it tells you which of the above applies. Gather exactly the document or correction it's asking for rather than resubmitting the whole application blind; submitting the wrong thing just restarts the wait. If anything is unclear, email info@roffik.com and we'll help you figure out precisely what's needed.
