Every person on your team has their own page in SalesThumb that pulls everything about them into one place: their role and pay, recent shifts, the jobs they've worked, commissions, tips, time-off requests, and the shop checklists they've submitted. Owners, admins, and managers can open anyone's page. Everyone else can only see their own.
Getting there
Go to Settings → Team & Permissions. On the Members tab, click a person's row to open their page. Use Back to team at the top to return to the list.
The profile card
At the top you'll see the person's name, a role badge (Owner, Admin, Manager, Technician, Front Desk, or Service Writer), their email and phone, their hourly rate (or "No hourly rate"), and their commission percentage (or "No commission"). A Hidden badge means the person has been archived from the team list. The line under it shows when they joined and which calendar resource they're linked to, if any.
The four stat tiles
- Hours 30d — time on the clock over the last 30 days, with the number of shifts and total break time.
- Appointments — completed jobs, with the number in the last 30 days and the invoice total for completed jobs.
- Commission — unpaid commission, with the amount paid in the last 90 days.
- Tips — unpaid tips, with the total for the last 90 days.
History cards
- Recent Timeclock — the last 15 clock-ins, with clock-out time, break time, hours, and status. If a punch was recorded unusually far from the shop, you'll see a "mi from shop" note. Location is optional and approximate, so use your judgment before acting on it.
- Recent Appointments — jobs on the calendar resource this person is linked to. If they aren't linked to one, you'll see "No calendar resource linked." To link them, see Managing installers and bays.
- Commissions and Tips — the last 20 entries of each, marked Paid or Unpaid. A commission tied to an invoice links to that invoice.
- Time Off Requests — the last 10 requests, with type, dates, reason, and status.
- Completed Checklists — the last 10 shop checklists this person submitted and how many items they checked.
Editing role and pay (owners and admins)
- Click Edit role & pay at the top of the page.
- Change the Role, Hourly rate, or Commission %.
- Click Save (or Cancel).
You can't demote the shop's only owner. Managers can view this page but don't get the edit buttons.
Recording commissions and tips (owners and admins)
Click Record on the Commissions or Tips card.
- Record commission: optionally pick a job under Link to a job (optional), then enter the Base amount and Commission %. The dialog shows what they earned. You can add Notes (optional).
- Record tip: optionally link a job, then enter the Tip amount and any notes.
Both are bookkeeping records. They don't move money or charge a customer.
When someone has unpaid commission, a banner shows the amount with a Mark all paid button.
Removing someone (owners and admins)
Click Remove, then Confirm remove. The person is removed from the shop immediately and signed out, and they can no longer sign in or be scheduled here. Their timeclock history, commissions, and tips are kept for reporting. Owners don't have a Remove button, and the shop's last owner can't be removed.
What isn't on this page
Clock-kiosk PINs and certifications aren't managed here. Set those from the row menu in your Staff directory — see Managing your Staff directory. To fine-tune what someone can access, use the Permissions tab on Settings → Team & Permissions (see Set up team roles and permissions).
Frequently asked questions
Q: Can a technician see their own pay and hours?
A: Yes. Anyone can open their own team member page. Opening a coworker's page requires the Owner, Admin, or Manager role.
Q: Why don't I see Edit role & pay or Record as a manager?
A: Changing role and pay, recording commissions and tips, marking commissions paid, and removing someone are limited to owners and admins. Managers can view the page but not make those changes.
Q: Does Record tip charge the customer?
A: No. Recording a commission or tip is a bookkeeping entry only. It doesn't move money or charge anyone.
Q: Why does Recent Appointments say no calendar resource is linked?
A: Appointments are counted by the calendar resource the person is linked to. Link them to an installer or bay resource and their jobs will show here.
Q: What happens to someone's records when I remove them?
A: Their timeclock history, commissions, and tips stay for reporting. They're signed out right away and can no longer sign in to or be scheduled at the shop.
