Forgot your password? You can get back into your SalesThumb account in a couple of minutes — no need to contact support. This article walks through the reset flow from start to finish: where to begin, what the email looks like, what your new password needs to meet, and what happens to your other logged-in devices afterward.
Starting a reset
On the sign-in page, the password field has a Forgot password? link right next to the "Password" label. Clicking it takes you to a dedicated Reset your password page where you enter the email address on your account and select Send reset link.
You don't need to be signed in to start this — it's meant for exactly the situation where you're locked out.
What happens after you submit your email
Once you submit the form, you'll see a Check your email confirmation no matter what: "If an account exists for [your email], we sent a password reset link. Check your inbox and spam folder." This wording is intentional — SalesThumb doesn't confirm or deny whether an email address has an account, so the response looks identical either way. If nothing arrives after a few minutes, double-check the address you entered and look in spam before requesting another one.
The email itself is a branded message with the subject line "Reset your SalesThumb password" and a Reset password button/link. Two details worth knowing:
- The link expires in 1 hour. After that, it stops working and you'll need to request a new one.
- The link can only be used once. Once you've successfully set a new password with it, it won't work again.
If you click a link that's expired, already used, or broken, you'll land on an Invalid reset link screen explaining the link is missing or no longer valid, with a Request a new link button that takes you back to start over.
Setting your new password
The reset page asks for your new password twice — once in New password and once in Confirm password — so a typo doesn't lock you out with a password you didn't mean to set. Two rules apply:
- The two fields have to match exactly.
- Your new password needs to be at least 10 characters long.
If either check fails, you'll see an inline message explaining what to fix before you can submit. Once it goes through, you'll land on a Password updated confirmation with a button to head to the sign-in page — you'll need to sign in again with your new password; a successful reset doesn't automatically log you back in.
What happens to your other sessions
For security, completing a password reset signs out every other device and browser that was logged into your account — the confirmation screen tells you this directly: "Any other signed-in sessions on this account have been signed out for safety." If you're regularly signed in on a shop tablet, a phone, or a second computer, expect those to prompt for sign-in again the next time they're used.
If your account signs in with Google or Microsoft
If you normally sign into SalesThumb by continuing with Google or Microsoft rather than typing a password, you can still use this same flow — it will set a password on your account for the first time rather than changing an existing one. Afterward, you can sign in either with that new password or by continuing to use Google/Microsoft, whichever you prefer.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a "change password" option somewhere in my account settings? No — the reset flow described here is currently the only way to set or change your SalesThumb password. Even if you're already signed in and just want to change your password (not because you forgot it), use the same "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in page.
How long do I have to use the reset link before it expires? One hour from when the email was sent, and it can only be used once. After that, the link stops working and you'll need to request a new one.
Will signing in on my other devices get interrupted after I reset my password? Yes. Completing a password reset signs out every other logged-in session on that account for security, so any other browser or device will need to sign in again with your new password.
I didn't get the reset email — what should I do? Check your spam or junk folder first. SalesThumb shows the same confirmation message whether or not the email matched an account, so if nothing arrives after a few minutes, double-check you entered your account's exact email address and try again.
