The HQ Team Hub page opens the exact same org-wide HQ channel that any shop Owner already sees inside their own shop's Team Hub — same channel, same messages, just reached from the franchisor side instead of from inside a location. It lives at /app/hq/{orgId}/team-hub, under Franchise Ops in the HQ sidebar, next to Announcements. This is an HQ-level page: you get to it through your organization's HQ dashboard, not from inside any single shop, and it's built for whoever at headquarters actually needs to have a conversation with the network — not just push a notice out to it.
Getting there
Open your HQ dashboard and click Team Hub under the Franchise Ops group in the sidebar, next to Announcements. If your account doesn't qualify to open it — not a member of the org, or set up with access that doesn't include the HQ dashboard — you'll see a clear message explaining what's missing instead of a page that just spins forever.
Opening the page automatically marks the channel read for your own account, so your unread count for it clears as soon as you look.
Reading and replying to the network
The page loads the org's HQ channel and its most recent messages (up to 100), refreshing automatically every several seconds so new replies show up without a manual reload. If nothing's been posted yet, you'll see an empty state inviting you to "start the conversation with your franchisees."
Every message shows who sent it: a franchisee's message is labeled with their name and shop ("Name · Shop"), and anything you send from this page is labeled Headquarters instead of a shop name, so the network can tell it came from HQ rather than from a colleague at another location. Your own messages sit on the right of the thread; everyone else's sit on the left.
Type in the box at the bottom (placeholder: "Message every shop in this org…") and press Enter to send — Shift+Enter for a line break. Once another member of the channel has read up to your latest message, a small "Seen" note appears under it. That's an aggregate signal — at least one other person has read this far — not a per-person "seen by" list, and it only ever shows under your single most recent message.
Pinning a message as an announcement
Hover any message in the thread — yours or a franchisee's — and a pin icon appears. Pinning it copies it into an amber banner at the top of the channel, visible to everyone with access, HQ and shop side alike. It's the same pin mechanism the shop-side Team Hub uses for its own pinned messages. Unpinning removes it from that banner without deleting the underlying message; there's no way to delete a message outright from this page, only pin or unpin it.
How this differs from Announcements
HQ has two ways to reach every location, and they run in opposite directions. Announcements is one-way: HQ writes an update, franchisees read it and can mark it read, and that's the end of it — there's no reply. Team Hub is the opposite: HQ and every franchisee post into the same running channel, and anyone with access can reply, ask a question, or push back. If you need to push out a policy update or a scheduled notice for the record, Announcements is still the right tool. If you need an actual back-and-forth with the network — a question that needs an answer, a location flagging a problem, a discussion that goes more than one message deep — this page is where that happens.
Things to know
- Requires an ORG_OWNER or ORG_ADMIN membership in the org. ORG_VIEWER accounts can't open this page.
- Your org also needs the +HQ add-on active, and your own access has to include HQ dashboard access — an org admin whose account was set up for Franchise Sales only is blocked from this page even though their ORG_ADMIN role would otherwise qualify.
- There's exactly one channel here, with no channel switcher — the org-wide HQ channel is the only one this page reaches.
- No Tasks tab. Team Hub's task lists are a per-shop concept and don't have an org-wide equivalent here.
- This same channel isn't visible to every franchisee employee on the shop side — only a shop's Owner sees it automatically; an Admin or Manager at a shop only sees it if they also hold their own ORG_ADMIN or ORG_OWNER membership in the org.
- From this page, any ORG_OWNER/ORG_ADMIN who can open Team Hub can pin or unpin a message — there's no separate permission gate for pinning beyond what already gates the page itself.
- Messages posted here don't currently trigger a push notification to franchisees the way a shop's own Team Hub channels do — franchisees find a new HQ message by opening Team Hub themselves, not from a phone alert.
- This page always posts to the single, shared, org-wide channel every shop can see. Messaging one specific location privately is a separate capability elsewhere in HQ, not something this page does.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Who can open the HQ Team Hub page?
A: Only ORG_OWNER or ORG_ADMIN members of the org, on an org with the +HQ add-on active and HQ dashboard access included in that member's own access. ORG_VIEWER accounts, and admins scoped to Franchise Sales only, can't open it.
Q: How is this different from the Announcements page?
A: Announcements is one-way — HQ posts, franchisees read and mark it read, no reply. Team Hub is a real two-way channel: HQ and every franchisee post into the same thread, and anyone with access can reply.
Q: If I post here, does every franchisee see it?
A: Every shop's Owner sees it automatically in their own shop's Team Hub, since it's the same channel and the same messages. An Admin or Manager at a shop only sees it if they also hold their own ORG_ADMIN or ORG_OWNER membership in the org — a shop-level Admin role by itself isn't enough.
Q: Does a franchisee get a push notification when I post here?
A: Not currently. Push notifications are wired up for a shop's own Team Hub channels, but not yet for the org-wide HQ channel — franchisees see a new message when they open Team Hub, not from an alert.
Q: Can I message just one location privately instead of the whole network?
A: Not from this page — everything you post here goes to the shared channel every shop can see. Messaging a single location's own Team Hub channel privately is a separate capability elsewhere in HQ.
Q: Can I delete a message I sent by mistake?
A: No. You can pin or unpin a message, but there's no delete — a message you've sent stays in the channel.
