The Awards page under your HQ dashboard (`/app/hq/[orgId]/awards`) rolls up the per-shop recognition/awards system — the same one shop owners use from their own Settings → Awards — into a single org-wide view. It's built for franchisors and multi-location owners who want to see who's being recognized across every shop they own, and where recognition is concentrated or missing, without opening each shop's settings one at a time. Awards are still granted at the shop level; this HQ page is read-only. There's no way to issue, edit, or revoke an award from here — it only aggregates what shops have already granted.
Picking a time window
Everything on the page — the KPI strip, both leaderboards, and the activity feed — is scoped to one period selector at the top: All time, This month, Last month, This quarter, YTD, or a Custom range with from/to date fields. All time is the default, so opening the page for the first time shows full history rather than hiding older grants behind an implicit recent-months window. Switching presets updates every number on the page to match.
The KPI strip
Four tiles summarize the selected period: Total grants, Recipients honored (the count of unique people who received at least one award), Gold+ grants (Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers combined into one number), and Shops active.
Filtering by tier or category
Below the KPIs are two rows of pills — one for award tier (Bronze through Diamond), one for category (Milestone, Tenure, Revenue, Quality, Safety, Training, Teamwork, Ownership, Special). Each pill shows a count, and a pill still appears (dimmed) at zero so the filter row doesn't reshuffle based on what a given org happens to have granted. Tier and category are mutually exclusive filters — picking one clears the other, so you can't stack both at once. The active pill only affects the Recent activity feed described below; it doesn't change the KPI strip or either leaderboard.
Top shops and top earners
Two leaderboards sit side by side. Top shops ranks every shop by total grants for the period, with Gold+ grant count breaking ties — a signal for where elite recognition is concentrated, not just raw volume. Clicking a shop row opens that shop's detail page under HQ. Top earners shows up to the top 20 recipients org-wide, ranked by total grants, with each person's primary shop (wherever they've earned the most) alongside their total and Gold+ count.
Recent activity and CSV export
Below the leaderboards is a feed of the most recent 50 grants across every shop in the org, each row showing the recipient, the award name, tier, category, a link to the shop, and a relative timestamp. The active tier/category pill filters this feed client-side, so switching pills is instant — it's narrowing the same 50 rows already loaded rather than re-querying the server. That also means filtering can't surface grants older than that most-recent-50 window; it only narrows what's already on screen.
Download CSV exports exactly what's showing: the same period and the same tier/category filter, with columns for date, recipient, award, tier, category, and shop. It's disabled when the filtered feed is empty.
Things to know
- This is an HQ-only page — grants are always issued from an individual shop's own Settings → Awards, never from here.
- Reaching this page takes more than plain org membership: your organization needs the HQ add-on active, and your account needs HQ dashboard access resolved on it. This is the same requirement that gates the cross-shop HQ dashboard generally, not something specific to Awards — a teammate whose invite was scoped narrower (for example, a CRM-only role) can be a full org member and still hit an access-denied screen here and on the other HQ dashboard pages alike. That kind of invite is deliberately meant to keep them working in their own tools (like Franchise Sales) rather than the cross-shop HQ dashboard.
- All time really means full history — the underlying queries have no built-in time bound, so if you never touch the period selector you're always looking at everything ever granted.
- Recent activity is capped at the 50 most recent grants org-wide for the selected period; the tier/category pills filter within that set rather than pulling more history from the server. Top earners is similarly capped, at up to 20 people.
- Tier and category filters can't be combined — choosing one clears the other.
- Recipient names, award names, and shop names are free text a shop owner can set to anything, so the CSV export sanitizes those fields before writing them out, to keep a cleverly-named entry from being interpreted as a spreadsheet formula when the file is opened in Excel or Google Sheets.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Who can see the HQ Awards rollup?
A: Anyone with HQ dashboard access on an org that has the HQ add-on enabled. Plain org membership isn't enough by itself — a teammate with narrower access, like a CRM-only role, will hit an access-denied screen here and across the rest of the cross-shop HQ dashboard, even though they can still use their own org-level tools (like Franchise Sales) fine.
Q: Can I grant an award to someone from this page?
A: No. This page is read-only. Awards are issued from the individual shop's own Settings → Awards page; HQ only rolls up what's already been granted.
Q: What does the "Gold+" KPI mean?
A: It's Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tier grants added together into one number — a quick read on how much elite-level recognition has gone out, separate from the total grant count.
Q: Why does Recent activity seem to stop short, even with a filter applied?
A: The feed only ever loads the 50 most recent grants org-wide for the selected period. A tier or category filter narrows within that set of 50 — it doesn't reach further back in history to find more matches.
Q: Does the CSV export include the org's full award history, or just what's on screen?
A: Just what's on screen — the same period and the same tier/category filter you currently have active, not the full history.
Q: Can I filter by tier and category at the same time?
A: No, the two filters are mutually exclusive. Picking a tier clears any active category filter, and picking a category clears an active tier filter.
