An HQ signage playlist is one reel of TV slides that every location in your organization can pick for its displays. This article covers building one. For how HQ pushes playlists and announcements overall, see HQ chain-wide announcements and signage pushes. It's part of the +HQ add-on.
Only org owners and admins can create and edit playlists. Other HQ members can open them but see a view-only note.
Creating a playlist
- In the HQ sidebar, click Signage.
- Click New HQ playlist.
- Enter a Name.
- Optionally enter a Tag (optional), such as PROMO, TRUST or SEASONAL.
- Click Create.
The playlist starts as a draft. SalesThumb takes you straight to its editor. Each slide shows for 8 seconds unless you override it.
The playlist list
The list shows each playlist's name, tag, a Draft or Published badge, how long each slide shows and an Adoption count such as 3/5. Adoption is how many shops have the playlist active on at least one display right now. A summary card above shows your shop count and playlist count.
Adding slides
In the editor, the Add slide card has one button per slide type. Click one to add it at the end.
- Image, Video and Web page: paste a URL. Video autoplays muted.
- Promo card: Headline, Subline (optional), Price label and Tag (optional).
- Reviews feed: how many featured reviews to rotate, from 1 to 8. Each shop's display uses its own reviews.
- Jobs queue and Warranty trust: live data for each shop, with nothing to configure.
- Weather: latitude, longitude and units. Each shop's TVs show weather for that shop's own location. Your coordinates are used only for a shop with no map location.
- Booking QR: Headline and Subline (optional). The QR code points to each shop's own booking page.
- Before / after: how many recent job photos to rotate per shop, from 2 to 12.
- Upsell bar: a headline and up to three cards, each with a service name, price, photo URL (optional) and one-line hook. Use Add card to add one.
- Price board: each location shows its own first board from its Pricing screens settings. It's skipped at a location with no board.
- Daily specials: each location shows the special it's running right now. It's skipped when none is running.
A new Upsell bar slide starts with three sample cards. Replace them with your own before you publish.
Before / after photos
The editor warns that this slide shows each shop's most recent job photos on the TV without login, with no per-photo review. Anything captured in a photo can appear, including a customer, plate, VIN or paperwork. You can't exclude a single photo yet. Lower the rotation count or leave the slide out if that's a concern.
Ordering and timing
Edits save as you make them. There's no Save button.
- Drag a slide by its handle, or use the up and down arrows, to reorder.
- Duration override (s) sets how long this slide shows. Leave it empty to use the playlist's default.
- Disable hides a slide from the displays without deleting it. It shows dimmed with a Disabled badge. Click Enable to bring it back.
- The trash icon deletes the slide.
Preview, publish and duplicate
The header shows the slide count, the default time per slide and the status.
- Preview as shop opens the player in a new tab.
- Duplicate copies the playlist and its slides into a new draft.
- Publish to all shops makes it visible to every shop.
- Move to draft hides it again. A published playlist shows this button instead of Publish.
Before moving a playlist to draft, SalesThumb tells you how many shops are running it right now and warns those displays will go blank until someone assigns a new playlist.
Deleting a playlist
Click Delete playlist. The confirmation shows how many shops are running it and says the playlist and its slides are removed for the whole organization and can't be undone. The button stays disabled until those numbers load.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Do I need to save my changes in the playlist editor?
A: No. Each change saves as you make it. There's no Save button.
Q: Can I hide a slide without deleting it?
A: Yes. Click Disable on the slide. It stays in the playlist, shows dimmed with a Disabled badge, and isn't shown on the displays until you click Enable.
Q: What happens to shops using a playlist if I move it to draft?
A: SalesThumb warns you how many shops are running it. Those displays go blank until someone assigns a new playlist.
Q: Why does the Before / after slide show a warning?
A: It shows each shop's most recent job photos on the TV without login and without per-photo review, so anything in frame can appear. Lower the rotation count or leave the slide out if that's a concern.
