Pushing inventory items to every location from HQ

Use the Inventory tab to add the same supply item to every shop, at zero on hand, without touching anyone's stock counts.

5 min read

The Inventory tab in HQ lets you define a supply item once and add it to every shop that doesn't have it. Only the item itself is pushed. Stock counts stay with each shop. It's part of the HQ add-on.

Where to find it

In the HQ sidebar, click Service Sync under Admin, then click the Inventory tab. It's headed Inventory Sync.

Read a card

Each card is one inventory item. It shows the unit cost and unit price, a Coverage bar (for example 3/5 shops) with an Incomplete or Synced badge, and the shops still missing it. A shop is labeled:

  • Missing if it doesn't carry the item.
  • SKU in use if the item's SKU already belongs to a different item in that shop. That shop will be skipped.

Items match on name and category. A shop that archived the item counts as having it, and the push won't bring it back.

Use the category tabs and the Search name, brand or SKU... box to find items. A category tab only appears if some item is in it.

Push one item to the shops that are missing it

Click Push to N shops on a card that isn't fully covered. The push starts right away, with no confirm step. The item is created in each shop that's missing it, using the cost and price already in use at your other shops.

Push a brand-new item

  1. Click Push New Item.
  2. Fill in Item Name (required). The other fields are optional: Brand, SKU, Size with a size unit, Description, Unit Cost ($) and Unit Price ($).
  3. Pick a Category and a Unit of measure. Categories include Ceramic coating, Paint protection, Detail chemical, Tint tool, Install supply, PPF supply, Merchandise, Tool, Equipment and Other.
  4. Click Push to N shops.

What a push does and doesn't do

  • The item is added at 0 on hand. Stock counts and reorder levels are never pushed, so no one gets a low-stock alert from a push.
  • Shops whose plan doesn't include Inventory are skipped. A note at the top of the tab says how many.
  • Shops that already carry the item, and shops where the SKU is taken, are skipped.
  • After the push you see how many shops got it, and how many were skipped and why.
  • It is a one-time push. Each shop adjusts its own cost and price afterward.

Who can push

HQ Owners and Admins. Other HQ members see the tab without the push buttons.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does a push add stock to my shops?

A: No. The item is created at 0 on hand. Each shop counts and orders its own stock.

Q: Why was a shop skipped?

A: Either its plan doesn't include Inventory, or its SKU for that item is already used by a different item. The result message tells you how many were skipped and why.

Q: Will a push bring back an item a shop archived?

A: No. A shop that archived the item counts as already having it.

Q: Can I change an item after I push it?

A: Not from here. Each shop edits its own copy.
