The Organization Audit Log is a record of the most sensitive changes made across your HQ network — who turned a brand or pricing lock on or off, which locations joined or left HQ, and territory changes — with who did it and when. It's part of the HQ add-on and is visible to the organization owner only. Admins and other HQ members can't open it, even with full HQ access.
This is separate from each shop's own activity history. For that, see Audit log + activity feed — track every action.
Getting there
From your HQ view, click Audit Log under Admin in the HQ sidebar. The link only appears for the organization owner. If anyone else opens the page directly, they see an Owner-only page message suggesting they ask the owner to look something up or transfer ownership.
What gets recorded
The log covers network-level actions, including:
- Organization created
- Brand color lock toggled and Pricing lock toggled
- Location created, Location claimed, Location details updated and Location went live
- Location link request accepted and Location unlinked from HQ
- Company/ownership group deleted
- Territory award reversed, Shop territory area changed, Territory unblocked and Territory deleted
- Location reports to prospects turned on, turned off, and Location report emailed to a prospect
It also records other HQ changes, such as changes to member access and roles, ownership groups, and location deactivation or reactivation. A few of these less common entries may show a short system code in the Action column instead of a friendly description.
A location that later leaves your HQ keeps its history here — the log remembers that it was part of your network when the change happened.
Reading the log
Events are listed newest first. A line above the table shows how many you're looking at, for example "Showing 1–50 of 120 events." Each row has five columns:
- When — how long ago (for example, "3h ago"), with the full date and time underneath.
- Actor — the name and email of the person who made the change.
- Action — a colored label describing what happened. Lock changes are amber; removals like unlinking a location, deleting a group or reversing a territory award are red; a location going live or a link request being accepted is green.
- Target — what was changed (Organization, Location or Territory), with the start of its ID.
- Metadata — extra detail saved with the event. Click the "keys" link to expand it, and click again to collapse it.
Moving between pages
The log shows 50 events per page. When there's more than one page, buttons at the bottom take you to the first page, previous page, next page and last page, with "Page X of Y" next to them.
If nothing has happened yet, you'll see No audit events yet. If the log can't load, click Try again.
Why it's owner-only
These events cover changes that affect the whole network — locks franchisees have to follow, and locations joining or leaving HQ — so visibility is deliberately narrower than the rest of the HQ dashboard. To manage who has which role in HQ, see HQ users, roles and permission sets.
Frequently asked questions
Q: I'm an HQ admin. Why can't I see the Audit Log?
A: The organization audit log is restricted to the organization owner only. Ask the owner to look up what you need, or to transfer ownership to you.
Q: If a location leaves our HQ, does its history disappear from the log?
A: No. Events are tied to your organization at the time they happened, so a location unlinking from HQ still shows up, along with its earlier events.
Q: How many events are shown at once?
A: 50 per page, newest first, with buttons at the bottom to move between pages.
Q: Does this log show every action in every shop?
A: No. It covers network-level HQ changes like locks, locations, territories and access. Day-to-day shop activity is in each shop's own Audit & activity page.
