Georgia market context
Atlanta is one of the densest tint markets in the country — heat, traffic congestion, and a strong truck/SUV culture drive demand. Ceramic coating adoption is rapidly growing post-pandemic; PPF demand follows the luxury market in Buckhead + Sandy Springs.
Georgia film tint laws
Georgia's current law (O.C.G.A. Sec. 40-8-73.1) is a flat 32% VLT minimum on every window of a sedan, with multi-purpose vehicles allowed any darkness behind the driver. A 2025-2026 bill (HB 1161) would split this into 28%/15%, but that change is delayed to July 1, 2027 - it is not yet in effect. Windshield: top 6 inches AS-1 line. Medical exemption available via a DPS dark-tinting permit. Enforcement is moderate.
SalesThumb's state VLT compliance check uses these GA thresholds at quote time. Out-of-spec selections trigger an auto-attached customer waiver to the invoice.
