The vehicle profile page

Open a vehicle's own page to see its details, owner, service history, photos and warranties in one place, and edit it.

Every vehicle on file has its own profile page. It pulls together the car's details, who owns it, the visits it has had, its photos and its warranties. It's handy when someone calls about a car and you need its whole history.

How to open it

There are two ways:

  • From the Vehicles tab on the Customers page, click a vehicle's name. See Searching vehicles by VIN, plate, or owner.
  • From a customer's profile, click the small link icon on a row in the Vehicles card. Its tooltip reads View vehicle profile. Clicking the row itself opens the edit form.

The header and Edit vehicle

The top shows the photo, the year, make and model, and a line with the color and "Plate" number. If neither is on file it reads "No plate/color on file".

If you can manage customers, Edit vehicle opens the same form as on the customer's profile. Deleting the vehicle from there takes you back to its owner.

Vehicle identity

This card lists Year, Make, Model, Trim, Color, Body type, VIN, Plate, Mileage, Unit # and Registered in. A dash means it's blank. Any notes you saved show underneath.

Owner

The Owner card links to the customer who owns the vehicle. A vehicle has one owner, and there is no list of past owners.

Vehicle history, photos and service history

If the vehicle has a full 17-character VIN, a Vehicle history card appears. It shows sample data only. See How to add a vehicle to a customer's profile.

The Vehicle photos card collects the inspection and job photos from every visit, newest first. See Vehicle photos: every visit, AI inspect, before/after.

The Service history card lists the appointments booked for this vehicle in a table with Date, Service, Status and Total. Click a row to open its invoice, or the calendar if there is no invoice yet. The total shows a dash until an invoice exists.

Warranties

The Warranties card lists each warranty on the vehicle with its certificate number, film and windows, and a status badge. Click one to open it. If there are none, it says no warranties are registered.

Custom fields

If your shop added custom fields for vehicles, a card for them appears at the bottom. It stays hidden otherwise. See Adding custom fields.

Things to know

  • Editing needs permission to manage customers. Without it, you can view the page but there's no Edit vehicle button.
  • A vehicle can only be deleted if it has no quotes, invoices, appointments or warranties.

A: The Vehicle history card shows sample data only and is labeled that way.

Q: Why is there no Edit vehicle button?

A: Editing needs permission to manage customers. Ask your shop owner to update your role.
