Refunding an online booking deposit from the appointment

Give back all or part of a deposit a customer paid by card when they booked online, right from the appointment page.

2 min read

When a customer pays a deposit by card while booking online, you can refund it from the appointment itself. You don't have to find the payment first.

Refund a deposit

  1. Open the appointment's full page from the calendar.
  2. Find the Online deposit card. It shows each card deposit, the amount, the day it was paid, and anything already refunded.
  3. Click Refund deposit.
  4. In Amount to refund ($), keep the full amount or type a smaller one for a partial refund.
  5. Confirm.

The money goes back to the customer's card. This can't be undone. Once the whole deposit is back, the card says Fully refunded.

Who sees the card

Only people who can issue refunds see the Online deposit card. By default that's the Owner and Admin roles. The card only shows when the customer paid a card deposit online.

Whether you refund a deposit is your decision. Your written policy is what the customer saw when they paid. See Setting your deposit refund and cancellation policy.
