Promotions in the mobile app has two tabs: Coupons and Gift Cards. Create and pause coupon codes, and see how many gift cards are active, sold and still outstanding. The screen notes that both are also available on the web. See Creating and managing coupons for the web side.
To open it, tap the round thumb button at the bottom of the screen, then Promotions under Marketing. You need gift card access, which Owners, Admins and Managers have by default. Without it the screen says "Promotions are manager-only."
Coupons
The top shows how many coupons you have. Tap New Coupon, then fill in:
- Code, which the app turns into capitals. The code needs at least two characters.
- Description (optional).
- Type: Percent or Amount.
- % Off or $ Off.
- Min Spend (optional).
- Limit to new customers only, if the coupon is for first-time customers.
- Tap Create Coupon.
Tap Close to hide the form.
Each coupon is a card with its code, a New only badge when it applies, a one-line summary, and how many times it's been used. If the coupon has a usage limit or an expiry date, the card shows those too. The switch on the right turns it on or off.
The mobile form doesn't edit existing coupons. You can only create new ones and switch them on or off.
Gift Cards
Three cards sum up your gift cards: Active, Sold and Outstanding. Below them is a Sell Gift Card button, which opens the sale screen described in Selling a gift card at the counter on mobile. The list underneath shows each card's code, its status (such as Active or Redeemed), who it's for or from, and its balance against the amount it started with.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Why can't I open Promotions?
A: It needs gift card access. Owners, Admins and Managers have it by default.
Q: Can I edit a coupon from my phone?
A: No. You can create a coupon and switch it on or off. Other changes are made on the web.
Q: What does the Outstanding number mean?
A: It's the remaining balance on your active gift cards. Sold is the combined starting value of your gift cards.
Q: How do I sell a gift card from here?
A: Open the Gift Cards tab and tap Sell Gift Card.
