Discounts close deals, but they add up. The Discounts & Coupons report shows how much you gave away in a date range and which coupon codes get used most.
To see it you need the View financial reports permission. Owners, Admins and Managers have it by default.
Open the report
- In the sidebar, click Reports, then switch to Detail.
- Pick your date range across the top.
- In the list on the left, under Financial, click Discounts & Coupons.
The three totals
- Line-Item Discounts: discount lines added to invoices.
- Order Discounts: discounts taken off a whole invoice.
- Total Discounted: the two added together.
Only invoices that are Sent, Partial or Paid count. Drafts and voided invoices are left out, because those discounts were never given. Invoices are counted by the date they were created.
The coupon table
Below the totals is a table of your top 10 coupons by use. It shows the Code, Description, Times Used, Type and Value.
This table doesn't follow the date range. Times Used is each coupon's all-time count, and turned-off coupons still appear. If you have no coupons, it says "No coupons configured". To set some up, see Creating and managing coupons.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Why don't the coupon counts change when I change the date range?
A: The coupon table shows each code's all-time Times Used count. Only the three discount totals at the top follow the date range.
Q: Are discounts on draft invoices counted?
A: No. Only Sent, Partial and Paid invoices count. Drafts and voided invoices are left out.
Q: What's the difference between a line-item and an order discount?
A: A line-item discount is its own discount line on the invoice. An order discount comes off the whole invoice total.
