What this tool does
Re-engagement lives at /app/ai/re-engagement and answers one question: which customers are slipping away, and what should you send them? It's a merged page — five previously separate AI tools (cold quotes, deferred inspection work, churn risk, no-show risk, and overdue maintenance) now live as five tabs on one page, so you check one place instead of five. If you had any of the old standalone tools bookmarked, those links still work — they now redirect here and land you on the matching tab instead of 404ing.
You'll find it on the AI Tools hub, listed as the "Re-engagement" card in the "Sell & convert" section, badged "New." There's no dedicated sidebar entry for it, and the AI Tools hub itself isn't in the sidebar rail either — reach it by opening Growth & Marketing from the sidebar (under "Run the shop"), then clicking its AI Assistant tab, which loads the same hub inline (that tab also has an "Open standalone" link straight to `/app/ai`), or bookmark `/app/ai/re-engagement` directly. Plain Cmd+K opens a different feature ("AI Help," a KB-grounded Q&A popup), not a page-jump search — the actual page-navigation command palette binds Cmd+Shift+K, and it doesn't have a registered entry for Re-engagement (or its former individual tools) yet, so searching "re-engagement" there won't currently surface a result. The "Deferred work" tab specifically is also one click away from the Reports page, via its "Draft Win-Back Texts" button.
Every tab on this page is read-only or advisory — the page header says so directly: nothing here messages a customer, books an appointment, or changes anything on its own. Most tabs' output is something you copy, edit, or push into a Blast to review and send yourself — the exception is Churn risk, which is pure review: no copy button, no edit, no Blast, just a link out to the customer's profile.
Live model vs. stub mode
Three tabs — Cold quotes, Deferred work, No-shows — show an amber banner if your shop doesn't have ANTHROPIC_API_KEY set in .env: "UI works in stub mode for testing." The tab still runs and returns results in stub mode, just not real AI-written text.
Churn risk and Maintenance are worth knowing about separately, since their stub-mode banners say something different: the scores, LTV, and suggested services (on Churn) and the customers, vehicles, and due dates (on Maintenance) are "always live," even without the API key — only the written wording is stubbed. On Churn, after a run the small line under the button also tells you plainly whether that run used "live model" or "stub output," plus the score threshold you searched at.
Walking the five tabs
- Cold quotes: set a lookback window (1–365 days, default 14) and a max number of quotes (1–25, default 10), then Run. It scans unconverted DRAFT/SENT quotes and drafts a follow-up per stale quote, showing the quote's short ID and a "Why" rationale line under each draft. The dollar amount at risk is shown once, as a total, in the "At-risk recovery" summary card above the drafts — not repeated on each individual draft.
- Deferred work: same lookback/limit pattern, but scans flagged, unaddressed inspection findings instead of quotes. Drafts show the customer's vehicle when it's known. If the scan itself fails, you'll see "Couldn't scan for deferred work. Try again." rather than a blank result.
- Churn risk: set a minimum risk score (0–100, default 40) and a max customer count (default 20), then tap "Find at-risk customers." Results link straight to the customer's profile and show last visit, estimated LTV, a color-coded risk badge, and a suggested next service — but there's no draft message, copy button, or "Send as Blast" button on this tab. It's explicitly a review-only list, per the card's own subheading.
- No-shows: nothing to configure — Run always scores the next 7 days of scheduled appointments. Each flagged appointment shows a risk score, a low/medium/high band, the signals that drove the score, and, when the model produced one, a suggested confirmation text with its own copy button. Like Churn, there's no "Send as Blast" button here.
- Maintenance: pick SMS or Email, a "look ahead" window in days (default 0) and a max customer count, then draft reminders. The look-ahead only controls how far past your shop's existing maintenance lead-time setting (30 days by default) the scan reaches to pull in items that aren't due yet — at the default of 0, the tab already returns everything overdue or due within that lead window, not just items due today. This is the one tab where the draft text lands in an editable textarea before you copy or blast it — every other tab's draft is fixed text. If your shop hasn't turned on the maintenance-due engine in settings, this tab tells you that directly instead of just showing an empty list.
The one thing that catches people
Not every tab has a "Send as Blast" button. Cold quotes, Deferred work, and Maintenance all let you push a draft straight into a pre-filled Blast (customer and channel already set) with a "Send as Blast" button next to the copy button. Churn risk and No-shows don't — they're pure review/scoring surfaces. If you're looking for a one-click way to message a churn-risk or no-show customer, you won't find one on those two tabs. No-shows at least gives you a copy button for the suggested confirmation text when the model generated one; Churn risk doesn't even have that — its "reason" line is plain text with no copy affordance. Either way, start that conversation from the customer's own thread.
