Each warranty can carry its own maintenance schedule: how often the customer should come back, and when the next inspection and recoat are due. You can change it for one warranty without touching your shop-wide settings.
This is handy for a one-off agreement, a customer who wants a different interval, or a due date that came out wrong.
Find the card
- Click Warranties in the sidebar.
- Open the warranty.
- Find the Maintenance schedule card.
It shows "Every 365 days" (or whatever the interval is), Next inspection and Recoat due. If there's no schedule, it says "No maintenance reminders for this warranty."
Change the schedule
- Click Edit schedule, or Set up reminders if there's no schedule yet.
- Enter the Interval (days), between 1 and 3650.
- Optionally pick Next inspection due and Recoat due dates.
- Click Save.
Leave a date blank and SalesThumb works it out. A blank inspection date becomes the registration date plus the interval. A blank recoat date uses the inspection date.
Turn reminders off
Open the editor and click Turn off reminders. That clears the interval and both due dates, and this warranty stops getting reminders.
Who can change it
Anyone who can open the warranty can see the card. Only people with the Manage warranty claims permission see the edit button. Owners, Admins and Managers have it by default.
Warranties are on the Growth plan and up.
How it ties into reminders
Any change starts a fresh cycle, so the customer can be reminded again for the new date. Reminders only go out if your shop has turned on Recoat & Inspection Reminders. See Setting up Recoat & Inspection Reminders.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Does changing one warranty change my other warranties?
A: No. The Maintenance schedule card only changes the warranty you're on. Your shop-wide default lives in Settings → Notifications.
Q: What happens if I leave the due dates blank?
A: SalesThumb fills them in. The next inspection is the registration date plus the interval, and the recoat date matches the inspection date.
Q: How do I stop reminders for one customer?
A: Open their warranty, click Edit schedule on the Maintenance schedule card, then click Turn off reminders.
