Each plan includes a set number of team seats. A seat is one teammate on your team list. When your shop is full, SalesThumb won't let another person join until you free a seat or move to a bigger plan.
Seats by plan
The plan cards on Settings → Plans & Billing list the seats for each plan:
- Basic: 1 user seat.
- Starter: 5 user seats included.
- Growth: 10 user seats included.
- Pro: unlimited user seats.
These are flat numbers that come with the plan. There is no per-seat add-on to buy. The way to get more seats is a higher plan. See Upgrading, downgrading, and canceling your plan.
What counts as a seat
Everyone currently on your team list takes a seat, whatever their role. That includes you as the owner. People you have archived or removed don't count. A pending invite doesn't count either until the person accepts it.
What you see at the cap
- Go to Settings → Team (the page is called Team & Permissions) and click Invite Member.
- Fill in the Invite a team member form and send it.
- If your shop is full, a banner appears instead of a plain error. It is headed Add more team seats and says "This shop is at its plan's team-member seat limit." The Upgrade to button names the next plan that raises the limit and shows its monthly price. It opens the Plans page. Compare plans is next to it.
Other places that send invites show the plain message instead: "Your Starter plan includes 5 team member seats. Upgrade to add more." The plan name and number match your plan.
Because a pending invite doesn't use a seat, you can send more invites than you have open seats. The limit is checked again when someone accepts. If the shop is full at that point, they can't join.
Free up a seat
Take someone off the team list when they leave:
- Settings → Team: open Member actions on their row, choose Remove from shop, and confirm. The box says they lose access immediately.
- Staff page: open the row menu, choose Remove, and confirm Archive. Archived people can be brought back later. See Managing your Staff directory.
You need the Remove staff permission to do either.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Do pending invites use a seat?
A: No. A seat is used when the person accepts and joins. The limit is checked again at that moment, so a full shop can't add them.
Q: Do archived teammates count toward the limit?
A: No. Only teammates who are currently on your team list take a seat.
Q: Can I buy extra seats without changing plans?
A: No. Seats come with the plan. The Plans page lists 1 for Basic, 5 for Starter, 10 for Growth and unlimited for Pro.
Q: Why did I get a banner instead of an error message?
A: On the Team page, a full shop shows the Add more team seats banner with an upgrade button. Other invite screens show the plain message with your plan's seat count.
