Suppliers live under Inventory in the left sidebar. Open Inventory, then click the "Suppliers" button (Truck icon) near the top of the main Inventory page — that takes you to /app/inventory/suppliers. Note that Inventory itself is a Growth-tier feature, so if your shop isn't on a plan with Inventory turned on, you won't see this page or the Suppliers button at all.
Adding a supplier
Click "Add supplier" to open the form. Supplier name is the only required field — the Save button stays disabled until you type something in it. Everything else is optional: contact person, account number, phone, email, website, and a free-text notes box. The name field's placeholder ("e.g., XPEL, 3M, Detail King") is just a hint — it's meant for whoever you buy film, coatings, or supplies from, not necessarily a company with a formal account setup. If the save fails, the error message from the server prints in red under the form so you know what went wrong before you re-submit.
What you'll see in the list
Once saved, suppliers appear in a single alphabetical list (sorted by name) with a running count at the top ("N active suppliers"). Any phone number becomes a click-to-call link, email becomes a mailto link, and a website becomes a "Website" link that opens in a new tab — so these fields aren't just for display, they're meant to be used directly from this screen. The account number shows next to a hash icon, and notes render underneath in small italic text. There's no search or filter box on this page — if you have a long supplier list, you're scrolling through all of them.
Linking suppliers to inventory items
The card subtitle spells out the actual purpose of this feature: "Link suppliers to inventory items for one-click reordering context". In practice, that link is made on the inventory item itself (each item can have a default supplier), not from this Suppliers page — there's no button here to jump to or manage which items use a given supplier. On the main Inventory list, there's a "Show supplier" display toggle that, when on, prints the linked supplier's name next to each item. If you're trying to see which items come from which vendor, that toggle on the Inventory page is where to look, not this one.
Archiving — read this before you click it
There's no edit button on this page — you can add a supplier or archive one, but there's no way to change a supplier's phone number, email, or other details here once it's saved. If something changes (new rep, new account number), your only option from this screen is to archive the old record and add a new one.
Archiving asks for confirmation first ("Archive "[name]"? This supplier will be archived and stop appearing in inventory lists.") and is not a hard delete — the record isn't removed from the database. But it is effectively gone from your day-to-day view: this page only ever shows active suppliers, and there's no toggle or filter here to bring archived ones back into view or reactivate them. If you archive a supplier by mistake, you won't be able to undo it from this screen.
Who can do what
Any team member who can see Inventory can see the Suppliers list. Adding or archiving a supplier is gated behind the same inventory-management permission as other inventory changes, which by default is granted to Owner, Admin, and Manager roles — Technician, Front Desk, and Service Writer roles cannot add or archive suppliers unless that permission has been explicitly granted to them in your permission settings.
