The Staff Leaderboard lives at `/app/staff/leaderboard` and answers one question: who's installing the most film, and how clean are their cuts? It's built from two live panels — an installer leaderboard and a window/glass-position breakdown — both pulled from every roll usage logged in the inventory module (specifically each usage's installer, window code, and waste inches). Nothing on this page is hand-entered; if the numbers look off, the fix is in how film usage is being recorded, not on this screen.
One thing worth knowing up front: this page isn't linked from the main sidebar, and the Staff directory page (`/app/staff`, your team roster with roles and PINs) doesn't link to it either. The fastest way in is the command palette — search "Staff leaderboard" — or by typing the URL directly. Don't confuse it with the "Installer Leaderboard" tile inside the main Reports catalog (Reports > Staff category): that's a separate, simpler report that ranks installers by completed appointments, not by square footage or waste. They share a name but pull from different data and answer different questions.
The day-range selector
Four buttons in the top-right — 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, 90 days — default to 30. This one control drives both tables on the page at once; there's no way to set a different lookback for the leaderboard versus the window breakdown. Switching it re-queries both panels and the footer note at the bottom of the page ("Stats reflect roll usages logged in the last N days") updates to match.
The installer leaderboard
The main table ranks installers by total square footage installed, with columns for sqft installed, waste sqft, waste %, jobs touched, and usage count (jobs vs. usages differ when one job pulls multiple rolls). The waste % column is color-coded so you can scan for problems at a glance: green under 3%, blue from 3% up to 7%, amber from 7% up to 12%, and red at 12% or higher. If a usage was logged without being tied to a specific installer, it still shows up as its own row rather than getting silently dropped — worth checking your team's usage-logging habits if you see more of those than expected.
Above the table, two highlight cards call out your best and worst performers by waste percentage — "Cleanest cuts" (green, trophy icon) and "Highest waste" (amber). A couple of behaviors here can be confusing the first time you see them. The "Highest waste" card only appears if that installer's waste is actually above 5% — so a shop where everyone is tight on waste will only ever show the green card, never the amber one. And if only one installer has logged usage in the selected window, neither card shows at all, because there's no meaningful best-vs-worst comparison with a single data point. Don't read the absence of cards as a bug; it just means the data doesn't support a comparison yet.
The window breakdown
Below the leaderboard, a second table breaks the same data down by window/glass position instead of by installer: total sqft, waste sqft, waste %, and install count per window code. This table doesn't get the color-coded badges the leaderboard does — waste % here is plain text — so if you're used to scanning for red badges on the top table, you'll need to actually read the numbers on this one. It's the table to check if you suspect certain window shapes (rear quarters, wraparound backlights, whatever your shop tags) are consistently eating more film than others, independent of who's cutting them.
When the tables are empty
If nothing's been logged in the selected window, each panel shows its own message rather than a blank table: the leaderboard says no roll usages were logged in the period and points you to record usage from inventory or job pages, and the window table says no window-tagged usages exist yet and prompts you to add a window code when logging usage. If you're expecting data and see either message, the first thing to check is whether staff are actually tagging a window code and an installer when they log film usage — this report can only aggregate what gets recorded.
