Packages let you bundle services you already have in your catalog into a fixed-price offer -- the classic "Good / Better / Best" upsell pattern -- instead of making customers pick services one at a time.
Creating a package
Go to Settings > Packages > New Package. You need a Name and a Price (you type a dollar amount; SalesThumb converts it to cents behind the scenes) -- the Create Package button stays disabled until both are filled in, and a $0.00 price counts as empty, so give the package a real price even if you plan to adjust or discount it later.
Pick a Tier -- Good, Better, Best, Standard, or Custom. This is a label only: it changes the badge color and text shown on the package card, it doesn't attach any pricing rule or upsell logic on its own. Add an optional Description ("What's included?"), then check off the services you want bundled in under Services Included, which is pulled straight from your existing service catalog -- packages don't keep their own separate list of services.
Turn on Featured if you want this package to stand out with a star badge and a highlighted card border -- useful for whichever tier you most want customers steering toward.
Visibility and editing
Each package card has its own switch labeled "Visible on booking page" / "Hidden," separate from Featured. Turning it off doesn't delete the package -- it just pulls it from customer-facing display while keeping the configuration intact, so you can build a package before you're ready to sell it.
Use the pencil icon to reopen the form pre-filled with the package's current name, price, tier, description, featured state, and services. Use the trash icon to delete it -- deletion is immediate, with no confirmation prompt, so double-check before you click it.
How this differs from Package Builder
This Settings page is where you predefine the reusable packages themselves -- a small, named catalog of bundles, each with a price and a set of included services. It's not the same as the Package Builder tool at /app/package-builder, which is the tile-tapping tool used at the point of sale to assemble a one-off bundle in the moment. Treat this page as configuration and Package Builder as the checkout-time tool: if you're tapping together services for a customer standing in front of you, you want Package Builder, not this page.
Gotchas worth knowing
- A package can be saved with zero services checked -- nothing in the form requires at least one service, so it's easy to end up with an empty-looking package if you forget to check any boxes before saving.
- The Price field takes a dollar amount but stores it as cents internally. Leaving it blank or entering something non-numeric produces an invalid price, so make sure it's a plain number before saving.
- Tier (Good/Better/Best/Standard/Custom) is purely a cosmetic label -- nothing on this page reads or enforces tier order, discounting, or upsell rules from it. The actual pricing and services come entirely from what you set in the form.
