Today, Tasks and Activities are the daily work pages of Franchise Sales, the franchise development CRM your HQ team uses to work franchise prospects. Franchise Sales is the org-level +CRM/Franchise Sales add-on ($799/mo). If your org doesn't have it, these pages show Requires the +CRM/Franchise Sales add-on with an Ask about +CRM/Franchise Sales button instead.
To get there, open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar and pick your org under Franchise Sales. In the Franchise Sales sidebar you'll find Today (marked "Actions") near the top, and Activities and Tasks under Engagement. For how the pipeline itself works, see Using the Franchise Sales CRM.
Starting your day on Today
Today is the action center: what needs your attention in the franchise sales pipeline. The Dashboard is the read-only overview; Today is where you act.
Across the top, four counters show Overdue, Due today, Upcoming and Stale prospects. Below them:
- Upcoming today lists meetings still to come before midnight, with the time, meeting type and prospect. If the meeting has a web link, a Join button opens it. Meetings that have already started drop off the list.
- Overdue, Due today and Upcoming list your open tasks. Overdue and Upcoming only appear when they have something in them. A task with no due date goes under Upcoming.
- Stale — no contact in 7+ days shows up to 8 prospects nobody has contacted in a week or more (or ever). Dead, converted and archived prospects are left out. Each row shows how long it has been cold, such as "12d cold" or "Never contacted".
- Recent activity on the right shows the latest 15 logged events across the pipeline.
Task due times are split using your own browser's time zone, so "Due today" means today where you are.
Completing a task
- Click the checkbox to the left of the task.
- The task disappears from the list and a "task completed" entry is added to the activity feed.
Click the prospect's name under a task to open their record. If you don't have any open tasks you'll see Inbox zero. Tasks are added from a prospect's page.
Logging a quick call on a stale prospect
- Hover over a prospect in the Stale section and click Log call.
- Type the call summary, outcome or next steps. Optionally add Duration (min).
- Click Save Call.
The call is saved to that prospect's timeline.
Using the Tasks page
Tasks shows every open task across all prospects in the same Overdue, Due today and Upcoming groups, with the prospect's rating badge and how long until (or since) each task is due.
- Search task or prospect… filters by task title, prospect name or company.
- The rep picker opens on your own tasks, marked "(you)". Pick another rep, or All reps to see everyone's. Your last choice is remembered for you in that browser.
- Tasks with no assignee, for example ones created by sequences and workflows, only show under All reps.
Reviewing the Activities feed
Activities lists every call, email, meeting and note logged across the pipeline, grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, then dates). Click any entry to open that prospect.
- The page shows 50 activities at a time. Use the arrows at the bottom to move between pages.
- Search prospect or content… and the type filter only look at the page you're on, not the full history.
- Export CSV downloads the activities currently shown on that page, with date, type, prospect, notes and duration.
Who sees what
Org owners and admins see every rep's prospects by default. Read-only members only see tasks, stale prospects and activity for prospects assigned to them, and their task checkboxes are turned off with the note "Read-only members can't complete tasks". To change what a member can see, see HQ users, roles and permission sets.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Why don't I see tasks a sequence or workflow created on the Tasks page?
A: Those tasks usually have no assignee. When the rep filter is set to a specific person (including you), unassigned tasks are hidden. Switch the filter to All reps to see them.
Q: What counts as a stale prospect on Today?
A: An open prospect with no contact in 7 or more days, or never contacted. Dead, converted and archived prospects are excluded, and the list shows up to 8 at a time.
Q: Why can't I tick off a task?
A: Read-only members can't complete tasks, so the checkbox is disabled for them. An org owner or admin can change your role or permissions.
Q: Does Export CSV on Activities download everything?
A: No. It exports only the activities on the page you're viewing (up to 50), after any search or type filter you've applied.
Q: Why did a meeting disappear from Upcoming today?
A: The list only shows meetings still to come. Once a meeting's start time passes, it drops off.
