SalesThumb splits commercial/B2B vehicle work into two separate tracks that live on one page: Local Fleets and HQ Contracts. You'll find both under Customers in the left rail — click into the Fleets tab next to Customers and Loyalty — or go straight to `/app/fleets` if you've bookmarked it. One thing to know before you look: the page opens on the HQ-assigned tab by default, not Local fleets. If you're an independent shop with no franchise contracts feeding you work, your first view of Fleets will be an empty "No HQ contracts assigned yet" card — that's expected, not a bug. Click over to the Local fleets tab to see your own B2B customers.
Local fleets vs. HQ contracts — different data, different source
Local Fleets aren't a separate object — they're regular customer records with the Fleet flag turned on. That's why clicking a row in the Local fleets tab takes you straight to that customer's normal detail page (same screen you'd use for any residential customer), just with a small "Fleet" badge for a visual cue. The New fleet customer button — it only appears while you're on the Local fleets tab — opens the standard new-customer form. Despite the button's name, filling out that form does not actually flag the customer as a fleet account yet — the form has no Fleet field, and the link's `?fleet=1` isn't read by anything. To finish the job, save the customer as normal, then open their record and switch on the Fleet account toggle in the edit panel (next to the Company field) — only then will they show up back here on the Local fleets tab. The empty state describes what flagging a customer as Fleet is meant to unlock — managing company vehicles, generating fleet quotes, and consolidated billing — but none of that lives on this page itself; this page is just the entry point into that customer's record.
HQ Contracts are a different thing entirely, built for franchise locations. When your franchise HQ wins a larger multi-shop contract (the kind of account that gets sliced by territory across many locations), HQ carves off a piece — an "allocation" — and assigns it to your shop specifically. You don't create or edit these here; they arrive as a one-way feed from HQ, and your job is to accept and work the slice you're given.
Working an HQ-assigned contract card
Each HQ contract card shows the contract title, the end customer's name and contract number, territory, an industry badge if HQ set one, and a short description. Below that, a stats row breaks out your slice of the contract value against the total contract value, your allocated vehicle count against the contract's total, the due date alongside the overall contract end date, and the end customer's contact name (with their email or phone shown as plain text there, not a link). Underneath that stats row — only when the allocation actually has a customer email or phone on file — a separate line adds clickable email/phone links so you can reach them directly, plus a note of when the slice was assigned to you.
There are only two actions available on this page: Accept & start, which moves a card from Pending to In progress, and Mark complete, which moves it from In progress to Completed. If you see a card badged Released, there's no button here to reopen or un-release it — that status is driven from elsewhere, not from this screen, so don't go looking for a control that isn't there.
The HQ Job Queue handles the day-to-day work
The Fleets page tracks the contract allocation as a whole — accept the slice, eventually mark it complete — but it isn't where you schedule individual vehicles. For that, use the HQ Job Queue button in the banner at the top of the Fleets page, which opens `/app/fleets/hq-jobs`. Each row there is one vehicle or line item under an HQ allocation, with its own status ladder: Pending → Accepted → Scheduled → In progress → Completed, with Release available as an off-ramp at any point before completion. From the Job Queue you can filter by status, Accept a job, pick a schedule date/time and leave notes back to HQ, Start it, mark it complete, or release it. Any instructions HQ attached to a specific job surface in an amber "HQ instructions" callout on that job's card, so it's worth checking before you schedule.
A few things to keep in mind
The stats tiles at the top of the Fleets page (HQ contracts active, HQ contract value, HQ vehicles, Local fleets) reflect only the contracts and customers visible to your shop — the "value" and "vehicles" numbers are your allocated slice, not the size of the master contract HQ is running company-wide. The search box filters whichever tab you're currently on — company/contact name and email for Local fleets, or contract title/customer/territory for HQ contracts — so a search that finds nothing on one tab may still find something if you switch tabs and search again. And because this page has no plan or role gate built into it, an HQ-assigned tab that's empty simply means your shop hasn't been allocated anything yet, not that a feature is locked — there's nothing to unlock here beyond your franchise HQ actually assigning you a contract.
