Tint shops historically lose inventory to inaccurate manual tracking. SalesThumb's roll inventory helps close that gap — receive rolls with real cost/lot detail, then let job completion deduct what was used automatically instead of tracking it by hand.
Receive a new roll
Inventory → Rolls → Receive roll (or the "Receive film roll" action in the mobile app). Enter: - Film product (brand + series) - Length received, in your choice of unit (inches, feet, yards, cm, or meters) - Cost - Lot / batch number - Supplier
There's no per-roll QR code minted or printed today — rolls are tracked by these entered details, not a scanned barcode.
Auto-deduct on job completion
SalesThumb can automatically deduct film from the matching roll(s) when a job's quote line items are completed — turn this on per shop. This is the real automation: no tech has to scan or manually log every pull. There's no QR-scan-to-deduct flow on mobile; the mobile app supports receiving rolls (and restocking low-stock items) but not scanning a roll mid-job to log usage.
Low-stock alerts
Inventory → Alerts shows every reorder threshold currently breached, with a quick-set form to adjust each film product's threshold (e.g. "alert at 20 ft remaining").
You don't have to remember to check that page — film products are covered by the same email alerts as everything else in inventory: a daily morning digest of everything currently below threshold, plus an hourly check that emails you the first time an item crosses (then holds off for 24 hours on that item). Both go to whatever email is on your shop profile; there's no SMS option, no extra recipients, and no frequency setting. See Low-stock alerts for the details.
Inventory reports
Inventory → COGS shows cost-of-goods-sold per product over a configurable lookback window (30/60/90 days or 12 months), including a waste-COGS column for material lost to over-cuts and re-dos. There's no separate dead-stock or shrinkage report today, and no dedicated /app/reports/inventory page — COGS-by-period is the inventory reporting that's shipped.
