Watch: How the Ready for pickup card on the dashboard works in SalesThumb (1:52)
The Ready for pickup card on your dashboard lists the cars that are done today. Each row has a Notify button that sends the customer your "vehicle ready" message. The card refreshes about every 30 seconds.
Where to find it
Open the dashboard and look in the Right now section. The card only shows when there is something in it.
What the card lists
Today's appointments (by start time, in your shop's time) whose status is Ready or Completed. To put a job on the card, click Mark Ready on its appointment page. See The appointment detail page.
The badge in the title reads "[N] need notify · [M] total", or just "[M] total" when everyone has been notified.
Each row shows:
- The customer name and the vehicle (year, make and model). If there is no vehicle, it shows the service name.
- When the job was marked ready.
- Notify, a Notified badge, or a No phone or email badge.
- Open, which opens the appointment.
Send the notice
- Click Notify on the row.
- SalesThumb sends your Ready for pickup message to the customer. You can change its wording in your message templates. See SMS templates library.
- The row changes to Notified.
The card's note reads "One tap to text the customer their vehicle is ready. Anti-spam: one notify per hour per appointment." The row only changes to Notified when a message really went out.
If it doesn't send
A red message says why, and the row stays as it was so you can fix the cause and try again:
- No "vehicle ready" message template is set up for this shop.
- This customer has no phone or email on file.
- This customer has opted out of texts.
- Your plan doesn't include customer texts or email.
- Your shop has reached its messaging limit for now.
- The message failed to send. Try again in a moment.
A row marked No phone or email has no Notify button. A customer with only an email still gets a Notify button. Add a phone number or an email to the customer, or reach them another way.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Why isn't a job showing in Ready for pickup?
A: The card lists today's appointments, by start time in your shop's time, that are marked Ready or Completed. Mark the job Ready first, or check its start date.
Q: Why does a row say No phone or email?
A: The customer has neither a phone number nor an email on file, so the card offers no Notify button. Add a number or an email to the customer, or contact them another way.
Q: Can I send the notice twice from this card?
A: No. After a message goes out the row shows Notified and the button is gone. SalesThumb also ignores a second notify within an hour.
Q: What if the message didn't send?
A: A red message tells you why, for example no vehicle ready template, an opted-out customer, or a messaging limit. The row stays un-notified so you can fix it and try again.
