Site-packet extraction lives inside Franchise Sales, on a prospect's detail page, in the Candidate Sites section. When you expand "+ Add" to open the Add Candidate Site form, there's an "Extract from site packet (photo)" upload area at the top of it. Drop in a photo or scan of a broker's property flyer, and the AI reads it and pre-fills the form's address, square footage, rent, lease term, and traffic-count fields — plus adds any demographics or broker/contact details it finds to the Notes field — for you to review. It never saves a candidate site itself: you still have to check every field and click Save Site before anything is written to your Candidate Sites list.
Extracting from a packet
Open a prospect's page, expand Candidate Sites, and click "+ Add." At the top of the form you'll see the upload area with a short instruction to upload or drag-and-drop a broker flyer/packet photo. It accepts JPG, PNG, or WebP only — PDFs aren't supported yet — and rejects anything over 8MB before it even starts uploading. Click it (or drop a file on it) and the button walks through "Uploading…" then "Reading packet…" while the photo is stored and then read by the AI.
When it finishes, the address lines, city, state, zip, square footage, monthly rent, lease term, and traffic-count fields below fill in with whatever the AI found on the packet. Any demographics or broker/contact details it picked up get appended to the Notes field instead, each labeled so you can tell it came from the packet rather than something you typed yourself.
Reviewing before you save
Under the upload area, a confidence percentage and a short caveats note appear, telling you what the extraction is unsure about — a field it couldn't find, or an assumption it made converting a rent figure. Treat every pre-filled value as a draft: it isn't compared against your other candidate sites, ranked, or scored (that side of the tool doesn't exist yet), and nothing is saved until you finish checking the fields and click Save Site yourself. If the upload or the read fails outright, you'll see an error message and can just fill the form in by hand instead.
Things to know
- Plan requirement: this requires your organization to be on the HQ tier (or Enterprise) — the same org-level tier used for other franchise-only AI tools. Candidate Sites only exists inside the franchise-only Franchise Sales workspace to begin with, so this isn't something a single-shop account will see.
- Stub mode: if the environment doesn't have live AI configured, extraction returns the same canned placeholder every time — a "123 Demo Plaza, Demo City, TX" address, 1,800 sqft, a $4,500/month rent, and a 5-year lease term — at 0% confidence, with a note telling you it's a placeholder. You'll get a toast explaining this when it happens.
- Only reads what's actually on the packet: the AI won't guess at a value that isn't visible on the flyer — if a field like the address, square footage, or a demographic figure just isn't there, it's left blank for you to fill in yourself.
- Rent conversion: if the packet only lists an annual rent figure or a per-square-foot rate, the AI will work out the monthly amount for you where it has enough on the page to do the math, and calls out any conversion it made in the caveats note so you can double-check it.
- PDF isn't supported yet — only JPG, PNG, and WebP photos or scans, up to 8MB each.
- Extraction only, for now: this reads and pre-fills one site's packet at a time. It doesn't compare candidate sites against each other or produce any ranking or recommendation — that's a separate, not-yet-built half of the feature.
- If your plan doesn't include it, or your org has hit its AI spend cap for the period, the form still fills in with placeholder values and you'll see a toast explaining why — that's the expected fallback, not a bug.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Does this save the candidate site automatically?
A: No. It only pre-fills the Add Candidate Site form. Nothing is written to your Candidate Sites list until you review the fields yourself and click Save Site.
Q: What file types can I upload?
A: JPG, PNG, or WebP photos or scans of the broker's packet, up to 8MB. PDFs aren't supported yet — if that's all you have, take a screenshot or photo of it first.
Q: Does it rank or compare candidate sites for me?
A: Not yet. This only reads one packet and pre-fills that site's fields. Comparing or scoring candidate sites against each other is a separate feature that hasn't shipped.
Q: What happens if the AI can't read something on the packet?
A: It leaves that field blank rather than guessing, and the caveats note under the upload area usually explains what it couldn't find or wasn't sure about.
Q: Why did I get a generic placeholder like "123 Demo Plaza"?
A: That means the environment doesn't have live AI configured (stub mode). You'll see a message telling you it's a placeholder, not a real read of your packet.
Q: Is this available on every plan?
A: No. It requires the HQ tier or above, since Candidate Sites is part of the franchise-only Franchise Sales workspace to begin with.
