Every SalesThumb plan includes a monthly AI allowance — the spend cap covering AI Help, the AI Assistant, Ask SalesThumb, and every other AI feature on the platform. AI Booster (Settings → AI Assistant → "AI Booster" link, or directly at `/app/settings/ai-booster`) is how you buy prepaid credit that kicks in automatically once that allowance is used up, so AI features keep running instead of stopping mid-month.
What happens when you hit the cap
Whenever an AI feature would exceed your plan's monthly allowance, SalesThumb shows an upgrade prompt: "You've used this month's AI allowance on [your plan] ($X of $Y). Upgrade for more headroom, or email info@roffik.com." Two options sit under that message — Buy AI Booster credits (this page) and See plans (a permanent plan upgrade). If you already have Booster credit on your balance, none of this applies — SalesThumb draws from it automatically before the cap is ever reached, and the feature just keeps working.
One boundary worth knowing: Booster credit only buys extra spend headroom under your existing plan. It never unlocks a feature your plan tier doesn't include at all — that always needs a plan upgrade, credit balance or not.
Your balance
The top of the page shows how much prepaid credit remains, out of how much you've been granted, with a usage bar and percent-used readout. If you have an active Booster subscription, you'll also see a "resets [date]" line — that's tied to your pack's monthly billing cycle, since credit renews with each paid period.
Buying credit
Below the balance, three prepaid packs are laid out as cards — Small, Medium, and Large Booster — each showing a monthly price and how much AI credit it adds each period (plus a note that sales tax may apply). Buy credits sends you to Stripe Checkout; because packs are sold as a recurring monthly subscription rather than a one-time purchase, your credit tops back up automatically on the next billing cycle without you having to come back and buy again. If a pack's button reads "Unavailable" instead, that pack isn't fully set up on the account yet — the page tells you to contact support rather than trying to force it through.
After checkout, a canceled purchase brings you back with a "Checkout canceled — no charge was made" message; a completed one shows "AI Booster active — your credits will appear here once the payment confirms," since the balance update lands via the payment confirmation rather than instantly.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What happens when I hit my monthly AI allowance?
A: AI features pause for the rest of the billing period unless you have AI Booster credit. If you do, SalesThumb draws from that credit automatically so the feature keeps working — no action needed mid-request.
Q: How do I get to AI Booster?
A: Settings → AI Assistant has a "Running low on AI usage this month?" link to it, or click "Buy AI Booster credits" on the amber usage-cap prompt that appears wherever an AI feature is capped. It lives at `/app/settings/ai-booster`.
Q: What packs are available?
A: Three prepaid packs — Small, Medium, and Large Booster — each a recurring monthly purchase through Stripe Checkout that adds a set amount of AI credit to your balance every period.
Q: Does buying Booster credit unlock AI features my plan doesn't include?
A: No. Credits only buy extra spend headroom under your plan's existing AI allowance. A feature your plan tier doesn't include stays locked regardless of your Booster balance — that needs a plan upgrade instead.
Q: When does my Booster credit reset?
A: The balance card shows a "resets [date]" line tied to your pack's monthly billing period — credit renews with each paid cycle of your Booster subscription.
Q: What if a pack's Buy button says "Unavailable"?
A: That pack isn't fully configured on the account yet. Contact support (info@roffik.com) rather than trying to purchase it.
