VIN decoding on autopilot

- Is the VIN decoder free?
- Yes — we use the free NHTSA vPIC API. Decoded data (year, make, model, trim, body class) is cached so repeat lookups are instant.
- Can two customers share a vehicle?
- Not today — each vehicle belongs to one customer record. A single customer can have unlimited vehicles, and fleet customers can be flagged as fleet accounts.
- Is there a customer or vehicle limit on any plan?
- No. Every plan includes unlimited customers and vehicles. Plans are a flat monthly price per shop with included user seats — never a per-record charge.
- How do I import from ShopMonkey or TintWiz?
- Export a CSV from your current tool, drop it into the import wizard, and it auto-maps common column headers. Fix anything the mapper missed in the preview, dedupe by phone, and commit — nothing is written until you do.
- How long is data retained? Can I delete on request?
- Customer records are kept for the life of your account. A customer with any quote, invoice, appointment, or warranty can't be deleted (merge duplicates instead), and a deletion can't be undone. On a verified GDPR / CCPA request, our team reviews it and anonymizes that customer's personal data across their vehicles, appointments, quotes, and invoices.
- Can customers see their own records?
- Optionally — the customer portal shows them their own quotes, invoices, warranty certificates, and photos. You can send any customer their portal link from their record, and customers can also sign in to the customer side of the mobile app with a text code sent to the phone number you have on file.
- Is there a version of this built specifically for PPF or wrap shops?
