If your sidebar feels cluttered with sections your shop never touches, you can trim it down from Settings → Customize Menu. The tile lives in the Advanced section of Settings, described there as "Hide features you don't use. Keep it simple." — only Owner, Admin, and Manager roles see the tile at all, so a front-desk or tech login won't spot it while browsing Settings. (The screen itself isn't hard-blocked behind that role check — someone who knows the direct URL could still open it — but only Owner, Admin, or Manager can actually save changes here; anyone else's Save Changes click is rejected.)
What you can actually hide
The Customize page lists ten sidebar items grouped the way they read on this screen: Daily (Dashboard, Calendar), People (Customers, Inbox), Sales (Workflow, Sales, Quick Sale), Operations (Inventory), Growth (Growth), and Admin (Reports). Each row shows the feature's icon, a one-line description (for example, Inbox is described as "Messages + Waitlist + Reviews"), and an Eye/EyeOff indicator that reads "Visible" or "Hidden." A counter at the top of the page tracks how many of these ten are currently showing — a large "X/10" tally with a small "Visible" label underneath it.
It's worth knowing this list isn't the whole sidebar — it's specifically the set of nav entries that have a matching toggle built for them. Items like Team Hub, Invoices, Products, the Flat Glass entries, and Settings itself aren't on this screen and can't be hidden from here. If a rail item you want to tuck away isn't listed on the Customize page, there's currently no toggle for it.
How the toggle and save actually behave
Clicking a row flips its state immediately in the UI — the row dims and the icon/label switch to "Hidden" — but that's only a local, unsaved change. Nothing actually disappears from your sidebar until you click Save Changes in the bar pinned to the bottom of the page. After saving, a brief "Saved" checkmark appears next to the button. The gotcha to watch for: if you toggle a bunch of items and then navigate away without hitting Save Changes, none of it sticks — your sidebar stays exactly as it was.
This is a shop setting, not a personal one
Hiding a feature here changes it for the whole shop, not just for the person doing the hiding — the hidden list is saved on the shop record itself, so every teammate who logs into that shop sees the same trimmed-down sidebar. If you want Inventory gone from your own view but a teammate still needs it, this isn't the right tool; it's an all-or-nothing switch per shop location, and it stacks on top of whatever your role already restricts you from seeing.
Bringing something back
Un-hiding is the same motion in reverse: open Settings → Customize Menu, click the row for the feature you want back (it flips back to "Visible" and the dimming clears), and click Save Changes. The page's own tip banner sums this up — hidden features are "always one click away to bring back," so there's no risk in experimenting with a leaner sidebar.
