Quote templates let you save a set of line items once and reuse them on future quotes, instead of rebuilding the same tint package or PPF bundle from scratch every time you quote it. This walks through saving a quote as a template, loading a saved template onto a new quote, and going back later to rename it, change what's in it, or retire it.
Save a quote as a template
Once you've built out a quote's line items, open that quote's detail page and click the ⋯ menu near the top (it sits next to whatever the primary action button is for that quote's status — Send Quote, Approve, Convert to Invoice, and so on). Choose Save as template. This option shows up no matter what status the quote is in — draft, sent, viewed, approved, declined, expired, or converted all have it.
A Save as Template dialog opens, pre-filled with a suggested name based on the quote number (e.g. "Quote 1042") — change it to something you'll actually recognize later, like "Full Ceramic Tint — Sedan." Every line item currently on the quote gets copied into the new template. Click Save Template and it's saved to your shop's template library. The quote itself isn't linked to the template afterward — editing one later has no effect on the other.
Use a saved template on a new quote
On the New Quote page, the Line Items section has a Load template button (it only shows up once your shop has at least one saved template). Click it, then search or scroll the popover list under Your templates and pick one.
Loading a template replaces whatever line items are already on the form with the template's items — it doesn't add to them, and there's no confirmation prompt before it swaps them out. If you've already typed in a few items by hand, loading a template afterward will wipe them, so load the template first and build on top of it rather than the other way around.
There's currently no way to add a saved template's items onto a quote you've already created — Load template only works while you're on the New Quote page building a brand-new one.
Rename, edit, or archive a template
Go to Settings → Quote Templates (it's listed under the Pricing & Catalog section of Settings, alongside Packages and Fleet Pricing) to manage everything your shop has saved.
Each template shows up as its own card, with a few actions on it:
- The pencil icon renames it or lets you change its Category, Vehicle class, or Description — edit the fields and click Save.
- The list-check icon opens the line-item editor — the same Kind / Label / Qty / Unit Price / Discount row layout you'd see building a quote by hand, plus an optional description and a Taxable toggle per row. Add a row with Add item, remove one with the trash icon (you can't remove the last row), and click Save Items when you're done. Every row needs a Label before it'll let you save.
- The archive icon archives it, after a confirmation dialog warning that an archived template stops appearing in the New Quote page's Load template picker. It isn't deleted — there's no delete button on this page — and it can be restored.
- Turning on Show archived at the top of the page reveals archived templates, each with a restore icon to bring it back.
You can also start a template from scratch here instead of saving one from a quote — click New Template, fill in a Name (required) plus optional Category, Vehicle class, and Description, and click Create Template. It's created empty; add line items with the editor described above.
Who can do this
Saving, renaming, editing items, and archiving templates all require the shop's Manage pricing permission — the same one that gates your Services, Packages, and Sales Matrix pricing. Owner, Admin, and Manager roles have it by default; Technician, Front Desk, and Service Writer don't. None of these buttons are hidden based on permission, so a teammate without it can still open the Save as Template dialog or the Settings page and try — they'll just get an error back when they submit, reading "You don't have permission to do this (requires 'shop.managePricing')." Loading a saved template onto a new quote isn't gated this way — anyone who can build a quote can pull in an existing one.
Worth knowing
A template's line item prices are copied in as flat dollar amounts at the moment you save it. If you later raise a service's price in your catalog, templates you've already saved keep the old price — they don't update automatically. Edit the template's line items directly (Settings → Quote Templates) if you want it to reflect a new price.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How do I save a quote I already built as a reusable template?
A: Open the quote's detail page, click the “⋯” menu near the top, and choose “Save as template.” Give it a name in the dialog that opens and click “Save Template” — every line item currently on the quote gets copied into the new template.
Q: Where do I go to rename a template or change what's in it later?
A: Settings → Quote Templates. Click the pencil icon on any template to rename it or edit its Category, Vehicle class, or Description, or the list-check icon to edit its line items.
Q: Does loading a template add its items to my quote, or replace what's already there?
A: It replaces them. On the New Quote page, picking a template from the “Load template” list swaps out whatever line items are currently on the form with the template's items, with no confirmation prompt — so load the template before you start typing items in by hand, not after.
Q: Can anyone on my team save or edit a quote template?
A: No — saving, renaming, editing line items, and archiving all require the “Manage pricing” permission, which Owner, Admin, and Manager roles have by default (Technician, Front Desk, and Service Writer don't). Loading an existing template onto a new quote doesn't require that permission.
Q: What happens if I don't need a template anymore — can I delete it?
A: There's no delete button — click the archive icon instead. An archived template stops appearing in the Load template picker but isn't removed from your account; turn on “Show archived” in Settings → Quote Templates and click the restore icon to bring it back anytime.
