North Dakota requires tint on every window except the windshield to pass at least 35% of light together with the glass, effective August 1, 2025 (it was 50%), and the windshield needs at least 70%. Windows behind the driver are exempt from the 35% limit when the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides. Nonreflective tint is allowed above the AS-1 line or in the top five inches of the windshield. No medical exemption appears in the statute.
