Mississippi window tint rules
Mississippi lets a car with tinted windows on the road only if an official tint inspection station's windshield label certifies that every window passes at least 28% light transmittance, or the owner has a medical exemption certificate. Some SUV, pickup and van windows behind the front two may match federal factory limits instead. No film is allowed on the windshield beyond a manufacturer-style sun shield at the top, and mirrored glazing is barred. Since July 1, 2026, a physician or an optometrist can support the medical exemption.
Summary checked against Miss. Code Ann. § 63-7-59, as amended by Laws 2026, ch. 340 (SB 2453), effective July 1, 2026 on 2026-09-28. Verify current statutes before quoting.
